So I got some Chaos Space Marines today but I want to use them as Havocs instead.

I'm having a hell of a time trying to find some Autocannons since I need 8 of them.

What do you guys usually do for your havocs?

From most expensive to cheapest.

1. Forgeworld sells autocannon packs. 5 for ~$23 Canadian....plus shipping. http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/The_Horus_Heresy/Legiones_Astartes/Space_Marine_Legion_Army_List/LEGION_HEAVY_SUPPORT/Legion_Heavy_Support_Squad/LEGION_AUTOCANNON_SET.html
2. Third party weapon bit manufacturer. Probably cheaper than FW, but casting quality can be suspect at times, and shipping can take forever. For example http://www.anvilindustry.co.uk/The-Armoury/Heavy-Weapons/Exo-Lord-Autocannons-TEN Look pretty solid, and are about half the cost of FW stuff.
3. Ebay. Hit or miss really.
4. Trade. Probably won't work, since autocannons are a top shelf bit, and you won't find someone sitting on 8.
5. Convert your own. A longer barrel on a heavy bolter is an easy conversion, and people sell/trade off heavy bolters cheap, as they suck balls.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

A change of title might get you more hits.
Hit the yellow triangle to get the thread moved.

As for the question, I'd start on Forgeworld, as mentioned, and hit ebay with some idea of what to search for.

Anvil seems to have a pretty decent reputation, though I do not have any direct experience with the company.

If you are fine spending money, the FW bits are nice and they work with the normal bolter arms. The Anvil autocannons are also exactly what you are looking for.

If you are looking to do conversions on the cheap, the P&M forum is a good place to discuss conversions. You have a problem that enough other people have had that third party bits companies have created products to solve it. There are bound to be a dozen different ways folks have solved this very problem with a wide range of cost and time/skill required.

That said, autocannon barrels are pretty easy to scratch build with some styrene rod.

They looked so good I went to place an order, only to find they're closed until the end of September.
