Took my Stormclaw Space Wolves down to GW today to test out and ended up having one of the most exciting games I’ve ever had so decided to write my first batrep/story about it. Hopefully it’s not going to be too heavy reading or long and you’ll enjoy it. Sorry I don't have any pictures.
SPACE WOLVES
Fierceye’s Finest (Bran Redmaw counts as Krom)
CHAOS SPACE MARINES
Ahriman
Some cultists
5 chaos space marines
Defiler
The watch tower would have once been a lookout point to provide early warning against attacks on the main keep however this time it served the opposite purpose. The packs had gathered behind it hoping to stay out of site and take the main keep and the sorcerer within by surprise. The young cub could just make out the tall castle in the distance through the heavy rain with its winding staircases leading up to an observatory at the top.
“Come around brothers” Called their Wolf Lord Bran Redmaw.
Although he crouched in the middle of them he was still as big as the young cub and some of the other young blood claws. The Lord stabbed his finger into the mud and drew two circles one slightly larger than the other.
“Here is where we gather” he said pointing to the smaller circle. “Hengist, you and your grey hunters will make your way around to the rear of the castle undetected and lie in wait in case they attempt a retreat” he said drawing a wide arc from the smaller circle to the larger one.
“Consider it done my lord” replied a large older wolf with a long braid and an even longer power axe.
“Egil” he said turning to the young cubs pack leader. He was short for a Space Marine but what he lacked in height he made up for in sheer muscle which he enjoyed showing off with his power fist. “You and your fresh meat will accompany me to the tower where...”
Suddenly there was a loud crack and boom and the tower that had hidden them started to crumble.
“MOVE!” yelled one of Redmaws wolf guard.
The young cub was knocked to the ground by the falling debris yet Egil was there next to him pulling him up, yelling at him, he could not make out the words but he revved his chain sword and set off in pursuit.
Bran had stopped just behind some trees to the right of the tower. The blood claws joined him there and when they looked towards the castle they saw what had disturbed them, a defiler was making its way across the field. Looking back towards the tower they could see that the Terminators of Bran’s wolf guard had stood their ground by the tower while the grey hunters were making their way left towards high ground.
“BEORIC! Deal with that thing!” called their lord!
“With pleasure brother!” shouted back one of the Terminators wielding a huge frost sword.
Advancing towards the tower they could see the defiler wasn’t alone. To the left the grey hunters had what appeared to be mere humans corrupted by the taint of chaos advancing towards them. While on the right flank opposite the blood claws a greater foe approached, a squad of chaos space marines.
As the Wolf Guard and the defiler marched against each other 2 of the wolf guard fell to its ranged weaponry, resilient as ever Beoric Winterfang lead the Terminators forward and clashed with the great mechanical monstrosity only for another one of them to meet their demise.
As the pack broke from the tree line they came under a hail of bolter fire from the traitorous marines and one of their brothers fell. Eager for vengeance the young cub marched on however Redmaw had clearly decided the Space Marines could wait as he turned them towards the defiler.
The young cub looked up and met his lord’s gaze. “Blood claw, let us show Beoric and his old dogs how to slay that metal beast, aye?”
The cub let out a great howl which was mimicked by his pack mates as The Bloodied Hunter led them into combat.
He ran in hacking at the great machine and unloading his bolt pistol into it with little success as it pulled the last of the wolf guard apart with its metal tentacles. Once finished it turned upon its great mechanical legs to face the young blood claws and that’s when Bran Redmaw stepped up, his axe Lagnvast in hand and Egil Redfist next to him. Together they fought the defiler like possessed beasts smashing it apart until eventually its legs gave in under it and it crashed to the ground, explosions erupted from the great monstrosity consuming two of the young pup’s packs mates. Bran turned from the defiler as if he didn’t even notice the casualties and made his way towards his next prey, the traitorous marines.
A huge brute bearing two sets of sharp claws lead the traitors screaming insults at the approaching wolves. Egil fell under heavy fire on the charge yet then The Bloodied Hunter stepped up once more, however his opponent was fast and quickly managed to wound their lord. Barely flinching though, Bran brought Lagnvast down upon him and proceeded to butcher the remaining Marines in a way only a member of his great company could.
The pack then turned looking across towards the hill where the grey hunters were engaging the cultists. And that was when they saw him. The sorcerer had taken to the field and was making his way between the cultists towards Hengist who, relishing the challenge charged him with his great power axe, however this sorcerer was more powerful than any of them first believed. He moved swiftly and cut down Hengist with a precise blow. In agony at the loss of their pack leader the grey hunters were overwhelmed by the cultists and fell one by one.
Their wolf lord fumed in anger at this sorcerer and the loss of his men yet as they made their way towards the hill to exact their revenge the sorcerer fell to the ground, his cultists looking shocked by the loss of their leader.
However their leader was not lost. The young pup looked on as his body proceeded to mutate as he grew in size and horns protruded from his head and wings from his back and the sorcerer stood tall over them all as a prince of the chaos gods.
The Bloodied Hunters were unfazed however and they collided with the prince and his cultists. The young pup hacked the corrupt humans to pieces while his lord duelled with the prince, dodging and parrying his deadly attacks while picking the prince apart. Although the prince was cursed by the chaos gods, Bran was a wolf lord of Fenris and he would not fall to this monstrosity. For every blow the prince landed The Bloodied Hunter would land three. By the time the pup and his one remaining pack mate had finished with the cultists both the prince and the wolf lord were tiring, blood pouring from the wolf lord’s wounds and demonic black slime oozing from where Lagnvast had bitten the daemons flesh. And that was when the pup saw his lord stumble, and lose focus for half a heartbeat and that was when the daemon sliced through him with his huge blade.
The wolf lord fell to the ground.
Overwhelmed by rage the two remaining blood claws charged the daemon, it cut down his companion and then turned on him. He raised his bolt pistol and fired its clip into the head of the creature yet without flinching the demon brought his great sword down upon the pup. He felt a dull pain in his shoulder as he fell to the dirt gazing up at the hideous thing above him, he couldn’t feel his right arm or leg. He looked down to see them missing from his body, and then, slowly, everything faded into blackness.
This is the first bit of fiction I've done since English Literature class. Hope you enjoyed it and I would love to hear what you think Thanks for reading

That was awesome! However, i've missed the moment when ahriman became a daemon prince. I think you should write at least a few sentences about it. The more - the better

Thanks! Its good to hear feedback like that.
I probably should have spent more time on the daemon prince bit but it happened really fast on the table. I was talking to an observer and my opponent rolled a few dice, did some chaotic stuff, disappeared for 2 mins and came back with a daemon prince and I was like OMG. Also I felt like it was getting long and didn't want it to be boring.
In the final challenge Bran had 2 wounds and the prince had 4. I passed 5/6 4++ and then took the daemon prince down to 1 wound as well!

Also, from a narrative pov "the daemon sliced through him with his huge blade" is a bit misleading cause IIRC Ahriman has a stave and thus has nowhere to get the blade from. Well, maybe he forged it directly from the warp or something. But i think i'm too focused on details here I understand that the Daemon prince model just had a sword...

I don't know much about chaos, I'm a Tau player myself who was just testing out my wolves. All I know is he took Ahriman off the table and put a big, winged, sword wielding daemon prince down on the table in his place.
I assumed there was some fancy warp chaos magic going on and, like you said, he forged it from the warp.
