So pushing on to 1850 from 1500 against my friends Taudar I thought there was quite an easy choice. After a little reading in the tactics forum it also seems a very viable and useful choice. It should also solve a problem the smaller list had by throwing a big target on the board turn one.

Any help at all? Personally I think my list is pretty strong... But I'm assuming it's not immensely competitive.... It'd be nice to hear some thoughts though. And the way people would play against it so I can get a feel for what I'm going up against and if the list is doing what it's supposed to.

I think the list is alright for what it's worth. I mean the only would o is run the TWC slightly differently, but that's personal preference. I tend to run them like:
5 models
2 with bolt pistol, chainswords & meltabombs
2 storm shields and chainswords
1 storm shield and pfist
1 storm shield and wolf claw (usually equip the leader with this for challenges, 5 str6 ap3 i4 reroll to wound rending attacks is a threat to most things that can challenge)
works out to be 15 points cheaper than what you run and with those 15 points you could give your grey hunters a hidden power weapon (you equipped them with chainswords so you expect hem to get into combat).
But as I said this is my personal preference otherwise the list isn't bad

Thanks dude. Some feedback at last. You say 5 models, but have written 6? Which is it? Because if it is 6 I'd be quite tempted with that load out. As you can imagine the two shield guys are there to purely tank for the unit. The powerfist is there to ensure things like dreads and knights aren't a massive issue. And that's why it's not on the leader so I can avoid initiative one challenges. . And the dual claws are simply for the extra couple of attacks as I expect the shield guys to be long dead by then...

And I can def see how you would use your load out, it's just for how many points they cost per model I like to make sure I have as many invuln saves as possible... but as I said this is just personal preference, I prefer to guarantee models get into combat even if it means a little less punch when they arrive

3 x SS + Chain sword.
1 x SS + PF
Pack leader with SS + WC
It's 10 points cheaper which is a psychic hood for my priest....

yea I like that actually
the only reason I have the meltabombs on mine is that I don't have as much anti armour as you and a few meltabombs alongside 5 str10 pfist attacks just makes sure armour dies.
tbh if it wasn't for the fact I need the meltabombs I would probably run mine like that. Still good punch with 15 str5 rending, 5 str 6 ap3 rending and 5 str 10 ap2 attacks on the charge and everyone has a 3+/++

I'm torn. I lose 2 attacks from the unit. Which isn't a great issue. But I lose AP3 and shred on a guy. Which is a bit of an issue...

losing ap3 and shred is not nice, personally I like the unit to have higher survival than a slightly bigger punch.
If you do want to get that wolf law back you could run smth like this:
1 chainsword, bolt pistol
2 chainsword, storm shield
1 powerfist, storm shield
1 wolf claw, storm shield
1 pack leader with wolf claw, storm shield
Guy with just chainsword and bolt pistol will get you back one of those lost attacks and you can put him at the back to avoid him soaking up wounds, and you also get back that str6 ap3 shred model

Overall it looks OK. However there are a few issues to me.
Solo pod drops in and dies. I think the Hunters would be better as a midfield unit with plasmas in a Rhino.
Solo Knights for me never work even at low points. A prepared opponent should always be able to deal with a single Knight whilst two or more Knights puts more pressure on.
I don't like Wolf claws on TWC particularly with the Wulfen Stone. Power Mauls in that set up are S8 rending, giving you ID on T4 and an initiative Powerfist against vehicles. Yes you lose AP3 but saves 15 points and against 3+ armour you are massively over killing the unit with or without the Ap3 given weight of attacks and Rending and a good number of Ap2.
Though about half the guys with SSs is about right. TWC star is pretty strong and the Knights adds pressure which is good.

OK. So the hunters are in fact a kind of suicide unit. They should spend at least a turn drawing fire. And if they can pop a big armoured threat in the process then all the better. That's their purpose.
The knight. I can't fit two in a list and keep my model count up where I want it to be. The hunters should draw and District for him for the first turn at least. And then the wolf will arrive full of angry claws.
The wolves and their weapons is where I am struggling. I can't seem to work out what to do with them. I have an idea I posted above but I like the idea of mauls. The idea above does have SS on every guy.

OK. I'm still not settled on my TWC load out. I have 330 points to spend on them. I don't have to spend them all on them. But I'd like some help. Some ideas some loads that fit that points value. I have 2 boxes here. So it'd be nice to get an idea before I start building. I like the mauls idea from flingitnow but am concerned at the lack of ap3. People keep on about Rending, is it really that trusty?
Bear in mind they'll sit with the IP and the WGBL.
