I REALLY need help painting my chaos models that are meant to look like Lords of Decay, as I'm not very good at painting and shading, etc...
I would really like some help from you good people out there who know some tips to help me.

First step is to find a painting area that contains gravity

I don't paint there it was just a good place for the photo.
You know...in the room with no gravity, don't know why that happened

Bump decay, make your army based around controlling the laws of physics!!!

All seriousness. Base black. Nurgle green. Wash Agax earthshade. Finish with Nurgle Rot.

Thank you for the paint suggestions. But now you've got me thinking about a Tzenntch worshiping legion that have physics defying artifacts.

On second thoughts it says that the LoD Legion is grey with brown and green rot, I don't think much they should be entirely green or else they're just Death Guard

haha i was just yankin ya pal. computers are funny things. in my opinion, you should experiment with your own colours and get a scheme youre happy with. for nurgle, you want lots of dirty colours...browns, murky greens, dirty yellows. use bright colours to provide contrast in small areas..for example, blood or toxic green goo drips, or purple guts hanging out etc. and corrosion. rusty kit, oil smears, nothing should be shiny. so heavy black/brown washes with minimal highlighting on those areas for effect.

I always thought if Nurgle had flying units (other than the drones) they should have sacks filled with gas. Like balloons of flesh stiched together and full of some sort of noxious gas.

If you want them to look like the following, then using a sponge to paint should work. Sponge painting can also be used to get rust and corrosion.



If you can get internet, that is!

Thanks for the sponge idea, going to by a clean one today because kitchen sponges are already ripe with Nurgle's rot . I've also just got some Possessed models to make and try painting, maybe a bit more freedom with them.

There's one last thing I really don't get. Are they White or Grey armored? Because I painted them Grey but the picture shows them as White?

Here's another anti-grav pic of my attempts of painting them, I like the one with not so much paint on him as you can still see the grey like in the photo FROZEN OCEAN shared. I accidentally overkill end the other one...

Nice. i wouldnt worry..hardly like nurgles decay is going to be uniform is it? id try and make each one have all different levels of rot and mould and corrosion

Ah yes...I suppose you're entirely right! I'm going to now try it on possessed marines and eventually, My Chaos Nurgle lord
