Use of anti-armor Stormravens to deliver Purifiers to heart of the enemy and unleash 4x Cleansing Flame with 2x Flamers (only 5pts ea), backed up by a pair of shooty Nemesis Dreadknights and lead by a Librarian attached to a squad of Terminators. Only the pair of Nemesis Dreadknights will start the game on the battlefield, the rest will Deep Strike turn 1. Are the Stormravens also able to come in on turn 1 with the Grey Knights Nemesis Strike Force special detachment rules too?

HQ
Librarian ML 3 with Domina Liber Daemonica and Combi-melta (roll Sanctic for another Cleansing Flame, and Gate to Infinity or Sanctuary, attached to Terminators)

TROOPS
5x Terminators with 1x Psycannon, 1x Daemon Hammer, 4x Falchions

ELITES
5x Purifiers with 2x Incinerators (loaded in Stormraven A)
5x Purifiers with 2x Incinerators (loaded in Stormraven A)
5x Purifiers with 2x Incinerators (loaded in Stormraven B)
5x Purifiers with 2x Incinerators (loaded in Stormraven B)

FAST ATTACK
Stormraven A with Multimelta and Typhoon Missile Launcher
Stormraven B with Multimelta and Typhoon Missile Launcher

HEAVY SUPPORT
Nemesis Dreadknight with Heavy Psycannon, Gatling Psilencer, Nemesis Great Sword, and Personal Teleporter
Nemesis Dreadknight with Heavy Psycannon, Gatling Psilencer, Nemesis Great Sword, and Personal Teleporter

Comments wanted, thanks.

Too slow, too risky. No control over reserve rolls. 400+ pts tied up in each storm raven. Once you do get those ravens on, you have to wait another turn to get into position. With the movement eldar and tau have, you'll likely never catch them in a good nova. Let alone getting them all successfully cast.

Only two DKs on the board could very well get you tabled. One more termie squad won't help much.

You're probably better off putting all the Purifiers in Rhinos for board presence and area denial. For the price of one of those Stormravens you can have 4 Rhinos with Dozer Blades so you can plow thru terrain without worrying about immobilizing yourself. And then use the leftover 40 points to give each Purifier unit a Hammer.

Remember that you can cleansing flame from the top hatch and still move flat out in the shooting phase with the Rhino.

I'm running a similar list and Painnen's issues with it are valid.

I've got two ravens loaded with purifiers that combat squad.
They have had their moments when they're brutally effective but the rest of the list needs to be able to hold the fort.

I've had better luck with a Draigo death star... using gate of infinity to get into position and really threaten. at least gives the purifiers a chance to come in.

either way, the rhinos probably work better. i love the ravens too much to not use them. but when you play the list, you need to almost forget about the purifiers for the first 2-3 turns. Imagine if they'd been tabled. when they come in, they should be effective reinforcements. you can't count on them at all.

Wow - I did not know that at all! That is pretty ingenious! I'll have to look into that strategy more sounds very promising, indeed!

Okay great thanks for the feedback! Seems like it's not very effective after all. What kind of Draigostar... with Purifiers? What do you think of a slightly modified list as follows:

HQ
Librarian ML 3 with Domina Liber Daemonica (roll Sanctic for another Cleansing Flame, and Gate to Infinity or Sanctuary)

LOW
Kaldor Draigo (attached to Purifiers)

TROOPS
5x Terminators with 1x Psycannon, 1x Daemon Hammer, 4x Falchions

ELITES
5x Purifiers with 2x Incinerators (with Kaldor Draigo)

FAST ATTACK
Stormraven A with Twin-linked Lascannon, Twin-linked Multi-melta
Stormraven B with Twin-linked Lascannon, Twin-linked Multi-melta

HEAVY SUPPORT
Nemesis Dreadknight A with Gatling Psilencer, Heavy Psycannon, Nemesis Great Sword, Personal Teleporter
Nemesis Dreadknight B with Gatling Psilencer, Heavy Psycannon, Nemesis Great Sword, Personal Teleporter
Nemesis Dreadknight C with Gatling Psilencer, Heavy Psycannon, Nemesis Great Sword, Personal Teleporter

Everything starts on table except Stormravens... Gate of Infinity into enemy and Cleansing Flame with Librarian's Terminators and Draigo's Purifiers, then shoot. Nemesis Dreadknights Teleport into position and also shoot. Stormravens come in turn 2 where needed specifically targeting high priority targets.

The NSF detachment only has 2 Heavy Support slots so that list doesn't work for Battle Forged.

The above list wouldn't use the NSF detachment rules however, just regular Force Org.

Combined Arms Detachment requires minimum of 2 troops. Your list is illegal in that sense as it only contains one troop

LOW
Kaldor Draigo (attached to Purifiers)

TROOPS
5x Terminators with 1x Psycannon, 1x Daemon Hammer, 4x Falchions

ELITES
5x Purifiers A with 2x Incinerators (with Kaldor Draigo)
5x Purifiers B with 2x Incinerators (loaded into Razorback)

FAST ATTACK
Stormraven A with Twin-linked Lascannon, Twin-linked Multi-melta
Stormraven B with Twin-linked Lascannon, Twin-linked Multi-melta with Typhoon Missile Launcher

DEDICATED TRANSPORT
Razorback with Twin-linked Plasma Gun

HEAVY SUPPORT
Nemesis Dreadknight A with Gatling Psilencer, Heavy Psycannon, Nemesis Great Sword, Personal Teleporter

Better, though the razorback lacks firepoints for the purifires to shoot Cleansing Flame out of.

Aha! Wow I guess I've just never used transport options so I never even thought about these tactics... I've always relied on Deep Strike and psychic abilities and Teleporters to get from A-Z quickly. That's great information and insight thanks. Updated list now once again, perhaps nearing it's final form?

HQ
Librarian ML 3 with Domina Liber Daemonica (roll Sanctic for another Cleansing Flame, and Gate to Infinity or Sanctuary)

LOW
Kaldor Draigo (attached to Purifiers)

TROOPS
5x Terminators with 1x Psycannon, 1x Daemon Hammer

ELITES
5x Purifiers A with 2x Incinerators (with Kaldor Draigo)
5x Purifiers B with 2x Incinerators (loaded into Rhino A)
5x Purifiers C with 2x Incinerators (loaded into Rhino B)

FAST ATTACK
Stormraven A with Twin-linked Lascannon, Twin-linked Multi-melta
Stormraven B with Twin-linked Lascannon, Twin-linked Multi-melta

DEDICATED TRANSPORT
Rhino A
Rhino B

HEAVY SUPPORT
Nemesis Dreadknight A with Gatling Psilencer, Heavy Psycannon, Personal Teleporter
Nemesis Dreadknight B with Heavy Flamer, Nemesis Great Sword, Personal Teleporter

Feedback??

Is it sad or funny that almost every Grey Knight list ends up with:
Librarian, ML3 (135)
Terminators (165)
Stormraven (200)
Stormraven (200)
Dreadknight, Teleporter, Heavy Psycannon (195)
Dreadknight, Teleporter, Heavy Psycannon (195)
1095 points
+
Additional upgrades to those units
+
more Terminators, another Dreadknight, Purifiers, or Interceptors to pad out the difference.

Draigo or Dedicated Transports occasionally find a place, but not as often.

Competative lists don't generally include any non-Librarian HQs, Strike Squads, Paladins, Dreadnoughts, or Purgation Squads.

Alright so this kind of changed from Cleansing Flame, but still includes Purifiers just not 4x squads of them. Also includes AM allies but is a much more well-rounded TAC list, and defense-wise everything is very durable which nullifies high AP low STR weapons except the Veteran squad of AM... this means useless points for the enemy if they've got a bunch of Bolters etc.

GREY KNIGHTS
Librarian ML3 (Divination for Prescience to bless Leman Russ squadron)
5x Terminators
2x Nemesis Dreadknights with Personal Teleporter, Heavy Psycannon
5x Purifiers with 2x Incinerator (loaded into Rhino)
1x Rhino
2x Stormravens with Twin-linked Lascannon and Twin-Linked Multi-melta

ASTRA MILITARUM
Tank Commander Pask in Leman Russ Punisher with Multimelta side sponsons
Leman Russ Executioner with Lascannon and Plasmacannon side sponsons
2x Wyverns
10x Veterans

1850 points

This has all the crazy goodness of both GK and AM... Nemesis Dreadknights, psychic power, Stormravens for anti-armor/anti-air, and close combat and objective holding from GK; Leman Russ' to deal with heavy infantry and light-medium armored vehicles and MC which GK traditionally have difficulty dealing with since lack of AP2 high STR weaponry, plus Wyverns supplying tons of additional dice to deal with light-infantry. Pound from afar first and maybe second turns, then advance when tactically advantageous to take objectives with tanks, NDKs, Termies, and Purifiers in Rhino and 2x Stormraven air support. The best of both worlds. Just considering best combination of Leman Russ variants presently.

Thoughts about the list?
