I have just gotten the new 7th edition codex and have decided to make a new army list. Just an FYI I don't think everything fits this its just what I thought I liked out of the ork codex.
- 20 ork boyz; 2x big shootas (optional); Nob with PK and BP.
- 20 ork boyz; 2x big shootas (optional); Nob with PK and BP.
- 10 nobz; 3x PK; 5x big choppas; 1x WAAGH banner; 2x slugga and choppa; 10x 'eavy armor.
- 7 flash gitz. (not sure if they are any good)
- 20 grots; 2 rutherd
- 1 battlewagon; defrolla; 4x big shootas.
- 9 lootas
- 1 warboss; PK; 'eavy armor.
- 1 Kaptin Badrukk. (stats are AMAZING!!)
total=~1,500 points
Feel free to drop or add anything in here. Thanks

"The space marine officer was waving and yelling to his men on the wall unaware he was leading the Squiggoth on. Stompy (the squiggoth) headbutted its way through the wall and gave chase to the terrified commander as he ran up seven tiers of the fortress, trying to close gates behind him and ordering men to cover his fight. In the end, stompy cornered and pulverised the officer in the heart of the citadel as thousands of orks poured through the breaches he had left behind."

From my ork games i fond that with the new codex you will never see another deff rolla. Save some points and just go with a ram. The only reason you will need either is for the terrain, and the ram is enough.

This is true about the deffrollas. No reason to ever even consider one. The wrecking ball can serve a similar roll as the old deff rolla though, something to consider.

Anything else, I will drop the deffrolla.

dakka jets are still pretty fun to play with... i run 2... and to save points you could drop one gretchen and a rutherd... thats 13 points...

Tankbustas are much better now. Your list seems a little light on things that can pop tank armor.

So do you guys think this is a stable list I may drop the deffrolla and may add some tankbustas but is it a good list what do you think?

If you're walking, you need blobs of 30. And no special guns. Y? Because you won't shoot them.

nobs? Overpriced. They cost 3 boyz but give you +1wound+1str+1atk...thats not +2boyz worth for 3x the cost. Mega nobs on the other hand are amazing. But no foot slogging for them.

flash gitz are awesome. They cost +4pts from a nob but gain a git finda (5pts) and a boss pole (5pts) and a snazzgun which 50% of the time kills space Marines on a 3 to wound. By my math the gun costs -6pts...so buy 10 put them in a wagon and never forget they are assault weapons. Because 40 s5 attacks after 30 Shots will generally wipe most units.

tankbustas are awesome. Give them other targets to shoot at and if they bring a titan or knight of any kind melta bombs kill them, so protect your bustas!

Frathammer out! (drops mic)

About the gitfinda is it relly worth it should orks sit back and try and out shoot the enemy. Most armies will be able to out shoot the orks. But out assault them I don't think so.

Solo battlewagons are a bad idea. With armour you want saturation. The best things in 7th are MSU due to 6 objectives to grab in any given turn and mobility particularly in ObSec units is paramount the improvement to Mob Rule has really helped the Orks here and is something you should take advantage of. The Ork Horde Detachment is worthless I wouldn't ever use it. Tank Hunters are amazing, lootas remain strong, flashgitz are decent though I prefer MANz missiles. Otherwise I would just spam as many little units in trukks as you can. Overwhelm your opponent with targets and force him to overkill small units and you can't go too far wrong.

As an idea here's what I'd run at 1500:

Warboss: attack squig, PK, heavy armour, BP, Da Finkin Kap 119

10 Boyz: Nob w/ PK, BP: Trukk w/ rokkit 130
10 Boyz: Nob w/ PK, BP: Trukk w/ rokkit 130
10 Boyz: Nob w/ PK, BP: Trukk w/ rokkit 130
10 Boyz: Nob w/ PK, BP: Trukk w/ rokkit 130
10 Boyz: Nob w/ PK, BP: Trukk w/ rokkit 130
10 Boyz: Nob w/ PK, BP: Trukk w/ rokkit 130

10 Tankbustas: Nob w/ BP: Trukk w/ rokkit 175
10 Tankbustas: Nob w/ BP: Trukk w/ rokkit 175
10 Tankbustas: Nob w/ BP: Trukk w/ rokkit 175

Warbuggie: rokkit 25
Warbuggie: rokkit 25
Warbuggie: rokkit 25

That's 42 rokkits a turn to deal with armour (even Knights) at potentially 15 separate targets, plus no less than 7 power klaws for AP2 goodness. It is also 21 separate units (22 if you count the Warboss) for target saturation. If you go first you've 30 tankbustas to try to secure FB whilst 6 trukks are on the edge of the opponents deployment zone. With 2 rolls on strategic Warlord Traits to try to get stealth ruins and move through cover (and or Night fighting) to help you weather the turn 1 storm and to get into position. This is incredible if there are lots of ruins in your meta (obviously less so the less prevalent they are).

What page of the codex does this Da Finkin kap appear on?

I meant because you'd be running, not shooting with slugga boyz. They are running across the board not strolling. Also in your second list you priced your Flashgitz wrong. Your total should be 113. 5gitz is 22x5= 110 one runt = 3pts...
and Fling, stop throwing your crappy list on other peoples list comments. This is at least the second time I've seen it tonight on different threads and has no barring on the list under discussion

Well the list was written for this thread to explain what you can do with Orks. MSU is the strongest thing in 7th and the only thing in the Ork dex to actually improve from its predecessor. It was reposted in another thread is response to a question about what I meant by MSU. Unfortunately with Orks you have perhaps 3 choices, MSU maybe MMU and Greentide the later being only really effective in the Ghazzy formation.

So it was relevant when posted in each case. If he wants to be competitive he needs mobility and multiple threats.

haha not as easily as you may think

as far as the list is concerned:

i would drop the nobz. they need a transport and the one battlewagon would be better suited for the flash gitz.

and though i agree that one shouldnt drop his own gak in an unrelated thread (FLING!), but he has a point... trukks are pretty awesome and i would consider breaking one bigmob into two trukk squadrons. then you could ditch the nobz and get some real MAN. put the warboss with the stikk in there and prepare for awesomeness.

not a big fan of bardrukk, but well... could be nice, just consider that for his costs you could get an extra flashgit mob.

then a couple of little things:
one mob of boyz should be shootaz give em 3 bigshootaz/rokkits
ditch the wrecking ball on the wagon, maybe get an lobba/kannon for extra dakka. but beware that the wagon isnt fast, so u'll mostly snapshot...
the gretchin need a squighound (lets em reroll failed moraletests, for mesily 5 points...kills of a couple of grots eachtime it does so, though...)
never get the banner, if possible try the stikk on a warboss
you lack antitank. get some bustaz or buggys/koptaz

other than that its a solid beginning!

couldn't I just add a trukk for the flash gitz or for the nobz I do have about 29 extra points.

one trukk isnt gonig to to anything... u'll need whats called target saturation. throw in a couple, then one is destined to get through

here is a tweaked list:

[HQ]
1x, Warboss; MA, BP, DLS = 130 points
[Elite]
3x Manz; BP; Trukk, ram, plank = 175points
7x Tankbustaz; 3 BS; Trukk, ram = 141 points
[Troops]
29x, Ork boyz; Nob with PK and BP = 220 points
29x, shootaz; 3xBS Nob with PK and BP = 265 points
10x sluggaz; Nob, PK, BP; Trukk, ram = 141 points
18x, Grots; 1x Rutherd, SquigHound = 68 points
[Support]
5x, Flash Gitz; 1x ammo runt = 113 points
1x Battlewagon; ram, four big shootas = 135 points
8x, Lootas = 112 points

1500;

instead of the bustaz you could use some buggys... u'll get a "couple" for 141 points
