Here's my first crack at a list for the Northmen, I'm a complete noob to them, so any advice is appreciated.

Heros: Exalted Hero [General]-194pts
Mark of Tzeentch
Burning Body
Third Eye Of Tzeentch
Halberd
Shield
Talisman of Preservation

Chaos Sorcerer [Level 2 in Nurgle]- 180pts
Mark of Nurgle
Dispel Scroll

Core: Chaos Warriors [18]- 326pts
Mark Of Tzeentch
Shields
Banner
Musician

Chaos Warriors [18]- 308pts
Mark Of Nurgle
Additional Hand Weapon
Shields
Full Command

Chaos Warhounds [5]- 40pts
Vanguard

Chaos Warhounds [5]- 40pts
Vanguard

Special- Chaos Knights [5]- 245pts
Mark of Nurgle
Ensorcelled Weapons
Musician
Banner

Gorebeast Chariot- 140pts
Mark Of Nurgle

TOTAL: 1491 pts

Basic plan is having the Exalted Hero in the Tzeentch warriors, Sorcerer in the Nurgle warriors, warhounds looking for war machines and other chaff, and the gorebeast and knights to smash into stuff.

Find the points to get festus instead of the burgle sorc. He gives regen and poisoned attacks to his unit. If you drop vanguard off the dogs it'll free some points. Also find a way to get halberds on your nurgle warriors deffo worth it.
Apart from those suggestions I like it.
One more thing, I can't remember how many points they are but three skull crushers with ensorcell blades will outperform the nights every time.

A very cool start, Warriors with Warriors in it is so much fun!

Personally you are overpaying for warriors, IMO I would recommend 1 big block of 22 warriors 6x4, Mark of Nurgle, Halberds, Full Command and Standard of Disipline (463)

Stick Festus in the front rank, along with a BSB of Nurgle with Tailsman of Endurance, Enchanted shield and Sword of striking. Now Festus is your General AND you wont run at the first leadership test. Your unit has Regeneration Poision AND a BSB with a 2+5++ with +1 to hit! That unit is an anvil!

So far you have only spent 838, meaning you have 662 left.

That gets you 5 nurgle knights, 3 skullcrushers and dogs!

I wouldnt want to fight against it and its basically what I run at 1500, its hard to get any points from it and you mess face in combat!

Nice idea, I'll definitely consider that too

And here's my advice, which starts with these two thoughts: What if you didn't want to take Festus? Or Skullcrushers?

I like the two warrior blocks, and I think it could work. What I'd like to see are a few changes to take what you've got, add some LD buffs and amp things up slightly. I put my thoughts in a list form, mostly for my convenience:

Chaos Sorcerer - MoN, level 2 (NURGLE), dispel scroll, enchanted shield = 185
Exalted Hero - MoT, talisman of endurance, halberd = 181

17 Warriors of Nurgle - full command (discipline), halberds, shields = 368
17 Warriors of Tzeentch - full command, shields = 319
5 Warhounds = 30
5 Warhounds = 30

5 Knights of Nurgle - standard, musician, ensorcelled = 245
Gorebeast Chariot = 140
-------
1498

Sorcerer is the general, and now has 2+ armor to stay in the game a bit longer. He still stomps with the Nurgle warriors, who found themselves some halberds to kill stuff with, as well as a standard of discipline to kick the Sorcerer's LD up to 9 for all his buddies. They also lost a model (to make an even 6x3 brick) but gained a champ to keep the Sorcerer out of challenges.

The Tzeentch Exalted is now the BSB, and he's rocking a trim 4/4+ save and a halberd. Very simple stuff here, and the moral of the story is to roll good dice! He still hangs with the Tzeentch shield dudes, who likewise lost a man but found a champion.

The dogs lost vanguard because it was a poor use of points, and then the special choices stayed the same, because they're good'uns

So there's a take on your list without the overhaul or bringing in Festus. You could still swap the special character in if you wanted - pretty sure he costs the same, and would make the unit fairly pimptastic.

Thanks guys, I think I'll try both suggestions of my list and see which one I like playing better.
