Well Dakka, I got my paws on the new book. Everyone is all gloom and doom but I see some potential. Would like your opinion on a list I am bringing to a upcoming RTT, I think its very competitive. I have 5 points left also.....

Dark Eldar Raiding Detachment:
HQ:
Archon, Shadowfield, Webway Portal, blaster- 150
Archon, Webway Portal, Blaster- 110
Elites-
9x Grotesques- 315
Troops:
10x Warriors in Raider, with Splinter Racks, Lance- 155
10x Warriors in Raider, with Splinter Racks, Lance- 155
Fast Attack:
Raider, Night Shields- 70
5x Scourges, 4x Haywire blasters- 120
5x Scourges, 4x Haywire blasters- 120
Razorwing, Splinter Cannon- 140
Razorwing, Splinter Cannon- 140

Eldar Allies:
HQ:
Autarch, Jetbike, Mantle, Fusion Gun- 135
Troops:
5x Dire Avengers in Waveserpent, Scatter Laser- 185
Elites:
9x Fire Dragons- 198

The plan is for the Autarch to hide LOS round one, for the waveserpent to start on the table, and maybe the scourges to start on the table in LOS blocking terrain. I think it will be difficult for an opponent to alpha strike 4 very small squads across the board, one with a rerollable 2+ (and hes small) and pop the transport, and kill all 15 infantry. Autarch is also there for reserve manipulation.

The archons deepstrike in the fire dragons in the raider, and the grots on foot. Grots are nasty in combat, very few things can remove that many feel no pain wounds in one turn before they get assaulted (my alpha strike will try and take out the high shooty priorities). WS is also tere for ignore cover for pathfinders etc, razorwings are for hordes, and 2+ saves. Scourges are great harrasing units for Knights/other vehicles, and the warriors drop in on objectives/kill wraithknight and medium sized squads.

Any suggestion? I do play rather competitively, so help is appreciated. My main worry is riptides and the like, but thats why I have the raider transport for the FD, and I think the grots may be able to tough it out.

Aftermath can be calculated.

I'd swap the Autarch with the Grots for a Haemi. Get fearless and furious charge a turn earlier.

For a massed reserve force, fill those extra elite spots with minimum sized Mandrakes. 3 small models with 2+ cover is going to be really tough to off.

If you're using the WWP with Eldar surely Wraithguard are a better bet? Why the Raider also? Its not like the enemy will allow it to survive after you've DS'ed in the Fragons. Also wraithguard add to the saturation of high Toughness. Though I guess the 3+ jink means it is fairly tough or the enemy has to put decent firepower into making it go away whilst also having the Grotesques to deal with.

Otherwise looks really solid. Only 1 ObSec unit (ok 2 if the count the DAs and Serpent separately) is quite light considering you've not spammed MSU. My other concern is AT after the alphastrike or if you come up against MSU.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Also with a big unit of Grotesques you're wasting points by losing D3 attacks per model.

The plan for the raider is actually rather nefarious, and the reason is Knights. Because the archon starts in the squad they dont get BF, and the rules for open top vehicles essentially allow for me to shoot at an unshielded Knight side.

Seems very fun to play, If I had the dought Id even be tempted to try it myself.
Id paint the eldars with the same dark theme as the DE, that would look badass

My Dark Eldar and Eldar are both painted Dark Red/Orange. Kind of based on Red Grief, but I fluff them as Corsairs.
