Pious Palatine

Painted to a good standard.

I'm not sure about the skeleton hanging on the Jetbike though...or the dainty way the dread is holding the Eldar's head.

Otherwise, very cool.

Painting Within the Lines

Very good for someone just starting out dude!

I would say to try and cut back on the weathering, less is more always. And think about thining your paints to get a smoother finish. But it's very good.

Here's a fun thing to try if you're looking for an even gradient (colors that slide into one another)

Pick out your highlight color and base color. Do your main base coat with "highlight" area and "base" area-say, if you were doing a terminator, the top part of his power fist would be highlight, the bottom would be base. That would give you that "striped " look-but we're not done yet.

Now, water down both colors pretty heavily. In the area between the highlight zone and base zone, out two stripes of watery paint side by side, quickly clean your brush and before they dry, using little up-down strokes mix the paint in the middle. This is called Wet Blending, and it's relatively quick and is great for Space Marines, who have all those annoying big wide areas like their arms, legs, helmets and kneecaps that are hard to edge-line like you've been doing.

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"
