OK Boys & Girls I started toying with a small Carcharodon Army about a year ago. I did a tester Dread and tried a single marine. After plenty of failures I went for a quite dull grey with some dry brushing with the odd highlight. To be honest it's a limited colour range to be a true Carcharodon, so the blander the better.

I thought instead of just posting pictures, I'm going to try a story strip, lets see if it works?


Heretics and zenos traveling through the Emperors space, beware of the dark. If you're lucky you may just see a fast grey ship out of the corner of your eye just before it rams you?

After it hits these guys will jump out.

These guys will teleport in.

This guy will open any doors?

Just in case you missed who they are.

The mother ship latches onto you and these guys start having fun?

If you try to escape to a nearby planet, these will follow.

Out will pop these.

If you try to hide in a bunker.

Damn I love space sharks...And yours are pretty awesome! Keep it up man! What else do you have in store for your army?

Afterwards all anyone will find is a pile of bones with this banner at the top, with a scroll reading 'Carcharodon Astra, by the Emperor it is willed'?

Guys thanks for the positive comments. To answer some of your questions:

I wasn't planning to add Tyberos, however having flicked through the FW book again it would be rude not to?

I tried many times to free-hand the decal artwork, all failed badly so I just gave up for now, I may try again but it seriously tried my patience. To be honest the FW decal sheet is really good so it'd be a shame not to use them to the max.

Next for the Army is an old style Rhino that I painted over 20 years ago (very badly) that's due a make over. A las-cannon armed Rapier, again very old and has sat in a box for way too long, crewed by a mix of old style and FW models. Finally some more thunder hammer termys to bring the squad up to 5.

As always that's current the plan, but tomorrow I may wake up and just have to paint something else that catches my eye, as long as it's a Carcharodon???

They look amazing. I was thinking of doing a shark themed army myself. Is it stIill possible to get the decal sheet? Its not on the website

I thought the decal sheet was still available but you're right it's not on the FW website. It was unavailable for some time but came back for a while, I'd give FW a call/email and see what they say.

I emailed them a few months ago about the carcharadons transfer sheet and asked if it is was returning, this is what they said:

With regret we will not be selling the Carcharodons transfer sheet for the foreseeable future as we have run out of stock of them and the demand for them is not high enough that we would need to order the minimum amount that we could from the printers. We are not ruling out the possibility of them returning but at present this is unlikely. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Such a shame as they are such a cool chapter.

That totally sucks, they never give any warning, they just pull any product they want. I'm pretty cheesed off now as I only have a few decals left. I can almost guarantee they'll be double the price on an auction sight. Looks like I'll have to use them sparingly from now on.

Sorry for re-activating this thread after so long however I just wanted to update you on some additions to my Carcharodons. These 2x vehicles used to be Dark Angels chapter (very badly painted) in fact before dark angel colours were available so probably about 20 years old. The pred has a new FW gun otherwise all the same vehicle. More to follow????
