Which Is The Better DA Flyer, The Dark Talon With Its Freaky Rift Cannon And Stasis Bombs Or The Nephillim With It's Mega Bolter And Missiles.

You forgot the "Neither. Get a Fire Raptor instead".
Both flyers are horrible for their points. Like really, really horrible.
The Dark Talon at least has a unique weapon, so he wins out imo.

There is also Secret Option #3, take the Stormwing Formation to get a pair of Stormtalons and a Stormraven.

I also support the hidden fire raptor option.

If your asking for in game use I have no idea. I havent used mine. Dont have 7th and dont plan on getting it.

If your asking because you spent some money on the model and your building it and are not sure which way to go....do both. Bust out those REMs and have at it. I did. Bolters/missle and las/rift and even the bomb thing. I glued the HB in place as I couldnt get the headlights to work with REMs.

I'd rather the Nephilim because it has more dakka. Still, Stormwing formation/Fire Raptor are much better deals

Of the two, I think the Nephilim is easier to just drop into a list and probably the better of the two for straight-up Dark Angels (assuming one doesn't want to bring in SM allies). It also actually got a little bit better in its slated role of air superiority thanks to the 7th edition revisions to the Immobilized result on flyers (basically a wrecked result 1/3rd of the time) blending nicely with the Nephilim's ability to upgrade a weapon destroyed result to immobilized.

As an ally though, I think the Dark Talon offers a bit more provided it can be paired with a strong melee unit like Thunderwolf Cavalry or similar. It seems designed as a tool to make a deathstar vs deathstar brawl swing in your own favor and Dark Angels don't really have the capacity to make such a unit on their own.

If you like the model make it as a nephilim but use it as an avenger.

Otherwise take the stormwing formation or one of the forgeworld flyers.

If you gave me a choice between a kick in the balls or a slap to the face, I would choose the Nephilim.

If I had to choose, I'd go with a Nephilim each time. The unit does a good job at being anti infantry/horde. The problem is that it's too costly. If it was cheaper in terms of points then it'd be an awesome harass unit. Either that or if it can be loaded out with higher strength missiles it'd be great against vehicles but alas it is what it is. The Talon on the other hand is very specialized. I think it's more of a support unit that has a one trick pony stat line. Also the flying church puts me off. In any case, choose something you'll like to play and that goes well with what you've built.
