"It is the way of Fenris. We stay as long as we can. Fight as hard as we can. Kill as much as we can. Only when we can do no more do we move on."
A pale shadow lit in the creases of the alcove. It flickered. Waving and shimmering. It was touched by an ice blue tinge, ice blue like the continental glacier of Asaheim. A hum began to resonate, it seemed to reverberate and lick across the walls alongside the tinge of this light.
The hum grew, the shadow also. Growing in intensity, it became bolder against the plated panelling of the alcove.
Something stood there. It was a hunter, prowling and stalking something it considered it's prey. Markus pressed forwards towards this enigmatic thing.
One foot forward, then the next foot forward. He edged closer, sly as a fox. His feet graced the grating.
A bead of sweat trickled down his forehead like a fresh mountain stream would flow down a peak's flanks. He licked his lips, his knuckles began to turn white under the pressure of his grip.
He turned the corner....
"Atop a sea, a crimson red,
Axe to bare, land paved with dead,
Strode the Jaw, teeth bared in snarl,
Glimmering maw, death in hand,"
-- Saga of the Gristlefang
A crimson spray shot out the alcove. It flashed quick, then proceeded to splatter against the wall opposite. Markus's companions could make out each individual bead of blood, each drop hit the wall one by bloody one.
Around the corner turned a giant. A behemoth.
Armoured, from head to toe, dark and dirtied fetishes draping his battle plate. A glinting dagger in one hand, it's edge coruscating with lethal energy, and the severed head of Markus in the other, his face captured in an eternal deathly scream.
The beast released it's grasp on his hair, and Markus dropped to the floor like an empty bullet casing.
Unsheathing another blade, the *shink* of it's keen edge against its sheath louder than the thoughts of those that stood before him.
The flashing muzzles of their rifles lit up the beast's face as he unfastened a helmet atop his brow. Dinks pitted his armour, but effected him not.
A fanged grin looked back....
DAKKA DAKKA! DAKKITES ONE-AND-ALL!
Fenrys Hjolda!
So it's been a considerable amount of time since my last venture here on these forums. Last year? Last January? I believe so at least.
Now I've been dying to get back on here and resume my forum lurking, which I am guilty of for the last week or so.
I've got my backside into gear, sorted myself and my miniatures out and got rid of the god awful hobby ADHD I was so plagued by as I bet we all are.
Now come all things hairy and space vikingy!
So I've been working on some pre-Heresy/Horus Heresy Space Wolves for a long time. I play Space Wolves in
40k, they were my second army following Crimson Fists.
So I've got about 1500 points, give or take, off the top of my head but since I started the entire project my painting has gotten better considerably (or so I'd like to believe) and due to that I'll be annoyingly repainting the entire army whilst adding to it over time.
Being the avid pack brother I am, I'll be using Forge World's {Space Wolf illustration as the basis to my paint scheme:
Taking this into consideration, I had a good old look through my strange bits box of Forge World resin and Space Wolf-ness and got pieces. Using my older models I also changed things up a bit.
So I'll be keeping this updated as much as I can, I'm hoping on using it as motivation to getting this army finished and well above 2000pts. There'll be a lot of
WIP stuff, this will be
heavily WIP having said that, so bare with me please. My painting's not the best but I do quite like it, I can live with it.
Slow first update, but I'll pick up the pace a lot as I've recently finished my first college assignment/project and have the spare painting time.
First up on the table will be the Wolf Lord himself, my Praetor
HQ, and his accompanying Legion Command Squad
Well, now this should be fun shouldn't it!
BRING ON THE WOLVES!
