Hello all,

I've not posted up any models on Dakka before, so go easy on me!

I've been painting / gaming on and off for 20 or so years, but I've only recently started to take more care on what I do, so here's something I have been waiting to do for a long time:

The Space Hulk Terminators as Crimson Fists (my main army).

My thoughts:
I've only seen a few spacehulk Crimson Fists before... and depressingly they look phenomenal... Mine are nowhere near!
I figured I could live with the majority of the BloodAngel iconography on the models. I have painted the blood drops as gems, and I'm considering the angel wings as aquilas....
I know I should drill out the guns...
I managed to forget to do the Librarian's axe... don't know how I managed to miss that! I'll have to go back and do it another time.
And I try to limit myself to 1 hour per model.

Comments and Criticism welcome.

Some of the details could do with being picked out more/highlighted more, specifically the guns looking less than detailed, especially the honours on the ammo to the assault cannons, the gun barrels themselves could do with more highlighting. However the painting as a whole looks great highlights for me are:

Eyes
Gems
Shoulder Icons
Scriptures
Gold in general

Are all fantastically done, you mentioned the abundance of Blood Angel iconography and it is still very apparent, but your colour scheme clearly labels them as crimson fists and that is the first thing to come to mind.

Thank you for your comments.

I might go back to these one day and do some work on the guns and some hard edge highlights.

I am trying to get a balance at the moment of taking not too long on models - I have so many to finish!

I started a topic on speedpainting here to discuss that point...

I seem to be on a mission to complete the Dark Vengeance box... Here are the cultists.

These were undercoated (pre-shaded) and I have done everything else this weekend. 20 models in about 8 hours.... so I am quite pleased with the speed.

It is my first attempts at painting using mostly washed and using the pre-shading to give me the highlights / shades.

There are a few things I would like to go back and do, but for now, I'm happy.

Close Combat Squad:

Ranged Squad:

And here are some of the marines I completed last year:

And some deathwing (not quite finished in these photos:

Been holding onto this Blood Claws box set for a while.... finally got round to painting it.

The models were in bad shape when I got them. All have been stripped and cleaned up where possible. there are some crappy mould lines (I think I got most of them off) - but the poses are awesome! Very cool models!

One of them is an assault marine as the box only came with 9 models...
Painting the yellow over the grey was a nightmare - I'm never doing that again.
I tried to line the yellow of the shoulder pads... seemed to come out ok.
I've never had any joy with the waterslide transfers, but I bought some microsol and microset and I am very pleased with the results.
I think I went a bit heavy on the badab black in places...

And I finally bothered to drill some gun barrels!

Some views of the models a bit closer:

And closer views of the transfers:

New Crimson Fists:

So although I have a Crimson Fists army which is very dark blue, I wanted to paint something a bit lighter blue.

The armour was sprayed dark blue, then a mid blue at an angle, then light blue at a higher angle. I'm not sure this comes accross on the photos.
Gun barrels all drilled out.
The finecast 25 model was a crap cast. what can you do....

I have never tried to do faces before - these were done following this guide: http://thepaintingbunker.com/2013/04/04/how-to-paint-space-marine-faces/
