This is an ongoing project of mine. I plan to make all the major chaos space marine characters, each with a scenic base, to represent an unholy council of abaddon for a future black crusade. First up is lucius the eternal, of the emperors children. The rest will be added as i go.

This has the potential to be awesome (and if the first pics are a good indication, that potential's going to be realised!).

I immediately thought of that classic pic of Horus and all his cronies in a group shot Judging by the foliage around Lucius' base, this won't be set inside a starship. What's the concept?

Well, i plan on doing all the 4 singular gods representatives, (ahrimman, typhus etc) aswell as the freelancers (huron, fabius) their bases will be representative of them, to some sort of degree. Once theyre all done i may build a display board for them all. I know in the fluff some of these guys dont see eye to eye, but the idea is that abaddon has used his charisma to unite all under his banner to launch an attack on the empire.

Here is abaddon. I painted him a while ago, hence the undrilled barrels. This will be rectified. I may also redo his sword if i get a moment.

Good job so far! Maybe its the lighting but the wash seems a tad heavy in my opinion. Good luck!

thats a cool kitbash man. where did you get the iconography with the skull from? looks almost dark mechanicus esque. i'd suggest maybe finding some more adornments to make him stand out as a major character though, and i find basing them on some type of elevated terrain always signifies an important character

Little progress shot. Switched abaddons base with huron due to height issues. Wait out on fabius bile. Hes finished but needs a base.

I have to admit that when I saw the thread title, I thought you were doing Abaddon's chosen lieutenants, based on the artwork of them from the 3.5 Chaos Space Marine codex.

Thanks man. i havent seen that.. Might have to have a look at it. Fabius base is going to be a cryo type tank built into the ground with one of his experimental cadavers floating in green goo

ah sweet. they sound cool, but means a lot of kitbashing. maybe i'll do that at a later date when i feel like some converting..

Brilliantly painted models. I especially like Lucius' base. It has an eerie and macabre beauty to it, which is perfect for a champion of Slaanesh.
