Hello all.
I am going to play a friendly tournament against Imperial, Eldar and Tyranids and have built this list to hopefully be competitive against them:
Sentinels of Terra
Lysander 230pts
Terminator Assault Squad: 5x Terminators + Sergeant 6x storm shields/thunder hammers 270pts
Sternguards: 9x Veterans + Sergeant. 5x combi-meltas, drop pod w/locator beacon 325pts
Scout Squad: 4x Scouts + Sergeant, 5x sniper rifles 70pts
Tactical Squad: 9x Marines + Sergeant, plasma gun, rhino 190pts
Assault Squad: 5x Marines + Sergeant, 2x flamers 114pts
Devastator Squad: 4x Marines + Sergeant, 2x lascannons, plasma cannon, flakk missile launcher 150pts
Devastator Squad: 4x Marines + Sergeant, 2x lascannons, plasma cannon, flakk missile launcher 150pts
Total 1499pts
The plan is for the scouts to infiltrate and claim an emplacement gun, drop the drop pod next to the big target (Imperial opponent has a Baneblade, Eldar has a Wrathknight, dunno what Tyanids have) and have the Sternguard come out and melta the target, have the devastator squads attack any other big targets in sight, have the rhino move to claim an objective.
In the second turn, Lysander and the Assault Terminators teleport next to the drop pod and support the remaining sternguard.
Any thoughts?

Your dev squads are a little all over the place. I might just run full LC. But things like PCs (blast) and flackk missiles (skyfire) are never going to work together. If you need to splash a flyer, just aim 4 LCs to the sky and hope for a 6. Nothing on the wing enjoys being lascannoned.
Rather then the sole rhino on the table, I’d go drop pod for the tacs. And swap out the assault marine’s JPs while you are at it. 3 pods, so you can drop two together on the first turn. much better odd of living though the drop when you have some buddies next to you.
I’d also grab a HB for the tacs. It’s not a lot of points, and you get the bolter drill.

Yeah I would go with everything Nevelon says, but would also run the scout squad bare bones if they are grabbing a gun emplacement- bolter drill on theses will be worth more than the sniper rifles.
Mixed Devs can work but max of two types in each one. If you want flexibility in one squad, 2x LC and 2x PC or ML can be nice, but since you have two squads you might as well go for 4 of the same in each - 4xLC with tank hunter is awesome, and 4x PCs will make a mess of TEQ, MEQ, 'nids and AV12 and under too. ADL works well for these guys, especially if you don't know how much terrain will be on the field. Add a quad gun and you got your AA too.
Personally I would also drop Lysander for a standard Captain and take a Librarian in the squad for some buffs, but if you have the model you might as well use it so stick with him

If you anticipate fliers (which it seems like you do since you have a couple flakk missiles) you will want a unit dedicated to efficiently handling enemy units in the sky... thanks to 'Tank Hunter' your devs with flakk are pretty good. Maybe consider one squad dedicated to this, with an Aegis + quad gun and a few flakk missile launchers - that way everyone firing will be firing effectively at the same types of targets.
A dev squad with 4 tank hunting las cannons is solid... definitely love that so you should consolidate those into one group.
As for Lysander and his Terminator buddies, I am not sure if they'll be mobile enough once they land to "catch" anything in close combat... well maybe a giant MC or a tank, but nothing Eldar. I know the points level is only 1500 but perhaps a LRR for them would be worth the cut.
Other than that I agree with the above feedback on going with multiple pods to support the sternguard... if you are throwing them out there alone, expect them to die and just take 5 melta.
Hope that helps!

You can run a single pod of sternguard, you just need to be very careful with them. Do a flank drop and pick off an outlying target. This can leave them out of position though, so you need to weigh the importance of the alpha strike with the ability to participate further in the battle.
And you still have the option to drop straight into the teeth of the enemy if needed. Like popping that demon prince before he buffs up with biomancy. But not every drop has to be a suicide drop.

I play sentinels regularly and I agree with the above comments.
1 Thing I would consider (and I know they are normally really bad) is taking tactical terminators over TH/SS ones. Here me out.
Put them with Lysander and deep strike them. Leave him in front to tank wounds. Within 12 those storm bolters become twin linked and you can take a cyclone missile launcher as well for some added punch. Lysander is basically 4 TH/SS terminators himself and this unit puts out more hurt than you would think. In CC Lysander can still take a bulk of the damage so they are defended all the time. I like the way they run.
Personally I rarely run sternguard with sentinels. They don't get to use the specialist ammo with the chapter tactics so they are not super effective other than killing a tank. If you wanted to hunt tanks I would rather you switched them out for 2 5 man units of LotD with melta, combi melta, and MM. Ignores cover and deepstrikes.
Take 4 lascannons devs. Awesome with tank hunter.

Thanks for your suggestions but I don't have any fliers or LRRs.
I know I will be facing at least one vendetta and eldar flyer which was why I thought of the flakk missiles - plus when I face tyranids, the ML and PC would give me some crowd control.
I like the idea of having 2 LOD squads but how would they fare against tyranids and eldar?
I also like the idea of tactical terminators - if I am reading the rules correctly, when deep striking you can't assault so Lysander and the TH/SS terminators would have a turn where they are sitting ducks so at least they might be able to shoot when they land.
