OK, I tried to mix it up with some podding dreads, or with Arjacs shield brothers, but they are too intensive on points to work at this level and be competitive. So, I've reverted back to old faithful. I want to know people's thoughts.....

Wolves unleashed detachment.

HQ - Rune Priest. ML2, Armour of Russ, Helm if Durfast. Warlord
HQ - WGBL. Thunderwolf mount, Runic armour, Storm shield, the black death, the Wulfen stone.

Elites - Iron Priest. Thunderwolf mount. 2 x cyber wolves.

Troops - Grey Hunters x10. 2 meltaguns, 10x CCW, WGPL upgrade with combi melta. Drop pod.
Troops - Blood Claws x15. 2 Flamers, WGPL upgrade with dual wolf Claws.

Fast Attack - Stormwolf. (Blood Claws and priest go here) Multi Melta upgrade.
Fast Attack - Thunderwolf Cavalry x5. 5x Storm Shields. 1x Power fist. Wolf Claw on the pack leader.

So it's quite all round. The mounted guys all form a mini death star. They obviously start on the field. The pod drops turn one and aims for armour. The stormwolf is guaranteed to arrive turn two, hopefully dominate the skies and drop the Claws off with the priest to upset some people.

I'm contemplating ditching the cyber wolves and the Wulfen stone for a lone wolf. I have 5 terminators with thunder hammer and storm shield on the way. What do you all think?

Keep the Cyber Wolves, ditch the Wulfen Stone and get some more power weapons on the TWC. They're killy enough without the Stone.

They're also killy enough without wasting a tonne of points on power weapons. They have rending already, and furious charge from the stone makes them S6 with rending...

I was thinking maybe a Power maul for S7 for armour, maybe another claw on a TWC Pack leader to absorb any challenges you don't want to take on your WGBL.

I have a claw on the pack leader already, and a shield for survivability. I have a power fist on another guy for armour. The iron priest rides with them for another character and he has a thunder hammer for anti armour and is AP1 in combat thanks to his servo arm.... I'm not too sure they're lacking anything....

So, no other suggestions? Is that because the list is beyond help? Or because it's pretty all round and balanced?

In reality, you really need more units. Maelstrom missions will kill this list. You do not have enough units to hold objectives. In theory, you only have 3 blobs, The GH, the BC, and the TWC. You should really be dropping pack leaders and power weapons for another unit of BC or GH or something to stay behind and take objectives.

I see your point. It is an issue I've thought about. I contemplated using my thunderwolves speed to objective grab if needs most. Especially since they can split from the WGBL & the IP.

My other list variant dropped the iron priest and his cyber wolves, dropped a thunderwolf, and dropped the wulfen stone. That allowed me to split the GH into 2 squads of 5 with melta gun and pack leader with combi melta in both. Both have pods. With the remaining points I get a ven dread in a pod with a multi melta and a great Wolf Claw with heavy flamer. Better? Worse? The same?
