This is the Warboss for my new Ork army: Krieg, Da Big Boss.
Anyone who is familiar with me and my work know that I love to kitbash and convert. Building something unique is my favourite part of the hobby.
Krieg Da Big Boss is my newest conversion. He is built using a Chaos Daemon Prince for the body, scratch built power klaw , shoulder armour and legs, kitbashed Dead Shiny Shoota and lots of gubbins and bitz.
I apologise for the picture quality, my phone is not very good. Will do a proper shoot when he's all painted.
I'd appreciate feedback and critique on the build, I'm always looking to improve and expand.

WOw. That's a great idea. I like how it turned out.
One thing i might add, are rivets. The surface on the armor plates and the Mega-claw look a bit flat. Some rivets near the edges an the corners would make it look better imho.

Rivets? Good idea
I've already put paint to it, but rivets are trivial to add. Im not sure if it shows in any of these photos, but ive used greenstuff to make weld joins between plates and in particular the kitbash on the shoota. But I like your rivets idea, thanks man

Thanks very much!! I took inspiration of the "glove" style from a powerklaw in the Nobz box, with the elbow strap and fist shape beneath the klaws. I thought it was going to be too big, but its just right for me!

I love it, although I am not completely sold on the arms. He looks like he's going to charge you for a hug.

This dude is totally awesome! I love the GS work on his trousers, nicely done. I struggle with getting the creases right with that sort of thing.

In terms of next stage?
I think he needs a suitable base, i'd also consider slightly leaning him back. as in having the base angled up towards the front. This will help pull together the idea that he's just reached the top of the rocky crest and is bellowing out his waaaaagghh! as his horde of greenskins surge around him

or atleast thats how I envision him Great work and keep it updated!

If you ask any of my gamer pals, I'm a whore for a raised base, but this guy is so big and so top heavy that I am reluctant to raise him any taller. He's as tall as a Space Marino Rhino haha
As for the GS, I hate working with the stuff, it's so difficult. I'm happy with the pants but I hate the boots. Now that they have paint on them, I can see how lumpy and unfinished the boots are.
If you look at this post again, you can see some of the paintwork.

Krieg: Come at me, bro! WAAAAAGGHH!!

The arms are how they are because they are the only arms I had left for that model. When you kitbash you make do with what you've got. I also found it much easier to paint this way.
P.S. If he did charge at you for a hug, it wouldn't be very nice, would it?

Rivets are the way to go
I used GS for the weld lines, most went in after these photos.
My new looted rhino is begging for a good riveting... And it's gonna get it

I experimented with shorter legs, but it came down to a question of proportions. Shorter legs made him look rather ridiculous and more than a little comical. The original daemon legs were sawed off at the knees and pared back even more. the thigh was shortened and the shins made as small and stocky as I could. The boot armour is rather large and thick, giving him extra height. The length of the arms in relation to the legs (to match the gorilla-like proportions of orks in general) looked odd in this size. The only way I could make it without it looking... funny, was to do it how it is. I didn't lunge into this without thinking it through and it took a week to build and fine tune.
