I am a new Space Wolf player so I'm afraid i can not really offer advice. But coincidentally this is the exact situation I am looking for advice on .
My friend plays GK and we are going to ally with roughly a 1000/1000 split. The main thing is that we make a 2000pt list together. I would also like to play Murderfang in a pod. I feel he may actually stand a chance of getting into combat coming in on turn two behind the GK Nemesis Strike Squad.
To compliment the GK list, I am looking at long fangs and drop pods in particular. My rough plan is this
HQ
Rune Priest - because i need an HQ, he provides an extra warp charge
Troops
Two cheap Gray hunter squads no upgrades, to hold objectives.
Fast Attack
Three Drop Pods. One or Two of them will have Homing Beacons to help the GK deep strikers out. Two will carry his purifier squads. One will hold murder fang and come in turn two, that's if I take him. but i don't have the points at present - (not sure on murder fang yet)
Heavy
Three Long Fangs squads. one squad with Lascannons and two squads with Plasma Cannons. I may put the rune priest with the lascannon squad if i feel they need buffing? I don't know.
Anyway, they are my thoughts so far. Let me know your opinion and how you have gotten on with your list.

It really depends on what your partner for the tournament is bringing, otherwise we can't really see what it is you're meant to be complimenting. The TWC and LF look fine, something I'd bring in an army where it was just me against someone else but the Dreadnoughts are a big investment in points with only 1000 points available. Any idea what the other guy is bringing? If he has a good number of troops (not sure about it since he's GK) then the Dreads should be a good support unit but if he doesn't, you have a field full of toys that could be asking for trouble if you get some bad rolls and things get immobilized.

First of all, on Dakka you should start your own thread for this sort of thing and not hijack someone else's - it's rude Automatically Appended Next Post: Ronin101 wrote:Doing a doubles tournament with a friend of mine and was looking for some input on my list.\

What will your partner be bringing in his list? It would be wise to find combinations that would synergise well with what he's bringing

I was not my intention to 'highjack', I only intending to offer my thoughts, seamed reasonable as I am doing doing the exact same thing. Apologies for any offence.

No offense taken
So it's a bit late to reply to this but I felt the need to close out this thread with news how it played out. My GK partner ran the nemesis strike force, with a Liberian, terminators, interceptors, a storm raven and two dread-knights I believe.
We took first place in the tournament, only losing to a duel eldar list that the TO was running as there was one team short.
The first round we played was against another Grey Knight player teamed up with Dark Angels. The long fans were easily the MVP of the game, taking out the Grey Knights Dread-knight in the first round of shooting, it also took out the majority of the Dark Angles command squad later in the game. The TWC took out the GK Libraian and GKT squad with ease.
And as for Murderfang as long as there is enough target saturation, so he isn't targeted by everything your opponent has he makes up his points. I have found he works best at about 1000-1850 points, as any higher and there is just too much AT, for him to survive long enough to get into combat unless you are either very careful in how you bring him in, or really lucky. Murderfang absolutely destroys everything short of GMC once he gets into combat, and a full health Murderfang might be able to take one of those if you are lucky. Although the best things to send him after are big blobs of models, if they are really shooty even better.
Against the Eldar my partner had some bad luck with his deepstrikes, and ended up being almost completely removed from the board by turn 3. I managed to hold for a while, but the Eldar just had too much fire power, and we lost in the end, but we went down with a fight as Space Wolves should!

Glad to hear it went well. Your list looks very solid, I would even play it as its own 1k list with some tweaks. Eliminate a TWC squad and make room for two GH squads, maybe placing one in a DP. Would probably need to cut one of the Dreads or just replace it with a GH squad. Looks good though.
