I play Deathwing exclusively, but I've always wanted to try green wing. I understand certain generic marine units do things better (such as sternguard over company veterans, but I want it to be DA unless there is something real good I'm missing), but I tried to work within the codex. I may try Azrael, but I have personal fluff for a company master so that's why. Any help would be great.

I don't think you need the storm shield on the CM, given that you have a 4++ anyway. Not sure what I would put the points into.......but it feels like they could be better spent

It's mostly just to help the command unit survive.

I like the two vindicators backed up with ravenwing knights. That is a heck of a threat on the table. However, I'm having a hard time understanding the reasoning behind some of the units. Is there a reason why you have so much melta?
What's your current meta like? Also, your list may need some decent AA.
I'd be happy to give some constructive feedback if I knew more about the kind of enemies you face and what your intent (strategy) is.

No particular meta since I have trouble getting in games locally due to disinterest, but I just did it since knights are a thing and so are suits and instant killing them is nice. I could probably go for some more flamers. Also, I pretty much have to ignore fliers unless I spring for devastators which would sit back while my whole army moves forward or use allies, neither of which is very appealing.

You have a lot of sub-optimal and poor choices here.

I know you said you want a company master......but they are so bad.

The command squad, with mixed special weapons and a razorback.....what is their purpose?

Librarian - get that guy a bike!

The techmarine is a lot of points to pay for a single sound model. Again the question is why?

The company vets.....same question again. What is their purpose, why include flamers when everything else in the army can deal with infantry already.

Black knights can be taken as a RCS if the librarian is given a bike, only 5 models, but it saves you points.

If you don't care about AA then I'd make the following changes:

HQ:
1x Lv 2 Lib w/ TDA Lions Roar
1x 5 man Command Squad w/ Combi Plasma and medic
1x Tech marine w/ PFG and Servo Harness

Troops:
2x 10 man Tac squads w/ flamers (may combat squad as needed)

Elites:
1x 5 man vetrans with Combi Melta w/ Drop pod
2x Mortis Dreadnoughts w/ 2x TL LC

Fast Attack:
1x 6 man Ravenwing Knights w/ Grenade launcher

Heavy Support:
1x 5 man devastator squad w/ LC
2x Vindicators w/ Siege Shields
--------------
Total:1837 (you can throw in a random upgrade here or there)

Reasons:
HQ:
We don't have any major show stoppers when it comes to our HQ selections and they seem to fill a more supportive role. Typically, I just use the librarian with divination to sit by a back objective and provide assistance for my devastator squads the command squad is filled with bodies to protect said HQ from MC. TDA and Lions roar provide protection and fire power. Apothecary for more durability.
I'd give a harness and PFG to the tech marine who will stay stationary with the dreads

Troops:
2 large squads seem to last me awhile to contest weakened objectives . Flamers for any horde and charges but nothing that will stop armor or MC. If anything like that pops up I usually rely on the ravenwing bikers for back up. The job of the tac squad is light horde removal and holding/contesting objectives. A rhino/razorback would be a welcome upgrade to assist

Elites:
Dreads provide long range AA (I know you don't care but I like covering all angles) as well as Anti MC and light vehicles. They work excellent as long range harassment units that add to the devastators .
Drop pod vets are there to die for the lion. Pack them with combi melta or plasma and send them to any armor or MC that is causing problems. They will die so putting more than 5 seems to be a waste. If they die and fail then it means more work for the LC units

Fast attack:
This is where the workhorse comes in. These units will hit and run targets and weaken anything for the tac squads. Because of the granade launcher on the bikes, you'll also set up units to be insta killed by the heavy support/elite units. Avoid combat and use these guys to harass they will draw a lot of fire which leads me to ...

Heavy support:
It's hard to ignore a vindicator and ignoring two is just silly. With a large S10 AP2 blast you're be insta killing most things. In addition to the bikes ability to lower toughness you'd be able to kill some MC as well as create a lot of threat with these units. Expect them to die and if they aren't gone by turn 3-4 make the enemy pay for their laxity.
Devastator squad should be kept back. Ideally, I'd place it near the Librarian for divination. 4 TL LC shots usually pays for itself.

Anyway, here are my 2 cents. If for some reason you're not allowed to use FW models or don't have the dreads then I'd switch the tech marine and dreads with some vehicles for the tac squad and purchase another 10 squad or just add some terminators to do some damage.

I hope this helps. I find this usually is a nice TAC list.

They totally can, it's literally their first option (page 93 for reference).

Sweet do it up. Looking forward to the list updates. End of the day, play what you'd like and want. That's how you have the most fun.
