I'm looking for some advice as to how my friend should expand on his ork list, which he started about a month ago.
Thus far he owns:
10 gretchin
10 'Ard shoota boyz(nob w Power Klaw, Big Shoota)
10 'Ard slugga boyz (nob w Power Klaw, rockitt launcha)
3 warbikers(nob w Power klaw)
Warboss, (AOBR)

He'll probably only play small point games for a while until he's painted his stuff, what do you think about a battlewagon?
- Warboss and 20 boyz in Battlewagon, Bikers in support of the advance.
Gretchin hold home objective, hug cover with their tiny figure for maximum cover saves.

He will need some battle wagons, so they are a solid investment. Keep in mind he shouldn't be using them in low point games, but later he'll need them. He needs a pain boy, A couple mek guns, some lootas, and some tank bustas. If I were to buy one thing, and that's all I owned? Another 10 boys. I'd continue to buy and paint boys till I had the minimum 60. Then look elsewhere.

You want two trucks.

In a small game the trucks can get there as quickly as the bikes.

In large games ork trucks can come on from reserve with useful support like Meganobz or tankbustas.

He needs to convert his warboss to a biker or just get a kff big mek on a bike. Then also get a painboy on a bike.

Can't go wrong with boyz in battlewagons this edition. Trukks are too fragile...mobz on foot too slow. Da Blitz Brigade in da Waaagh Ghaz book is a good long term goal.

When in doubt BUY MORE BOYZ! I have 90 and I still want another 30 or so.

Anyone who says boyz cant foot slog doesnt know what he is doing :-P you must make sure you get a mobile cover save or at the least put a painboy in their. Regardless he needs way more boyz and then he should get some lootas and some specialized stuff after that
