I'm trying to write a list to bring back 5th ed. BA tactic, the Blood Rodeo, in which a bubble wrap of bikers protect the more squishier ASMs, which then, once close to the enemy, jump pack over the bikes and bring the pain in CC.
Any thoughts why this could work/couldn't work?
WHITE SCARS PRIMARY DETACHMENT
+HQ+
Captain (Artificer Armour, Storm Shield, Thunder Hammer, Bike)
Command Squad (Bikes, Apothecary, 4x Melta Gun)
+TROOPS+
5x Bikes (2 Grav Gun, Combi-Grav)
5x Bikes (2 Grav Gun, Combi-Grav)
+FAST ATTACK+
Land Speeder (Heavy Bolter, Typhoon ML)
StormTalon (Skyhamer ML)
BLOOD ANGELS DETACHMENT
+HQ+
Sanguinary Priest (Bike, Power Sword)
+ELITES+
10x Death Company (Jump Packs, 8x Chainsword, 8x Bolt Pistol, Power Sword, Power Axe)
+TROOPS+
5xScouts (Camo Cloak, 5x Sniper rifle)
+FAST ATTACK+
10x Assault Marines (2xMelta Gun, Power Axe, Meltabombs)
Deploy everything except the Stormtalon, bikes in front and Blood Angels behind.
Captain joins Command Squad and Sanguinary Priest joins a bike squad to give them FnP.
Once in range Sang Priest goes either with DC or ASM for FnP and +1WS, and the other squad is joined by the Captain.
The bikes then Hit&run out of combat and hit the enemy support units in the backfield, while the scouts stay on my backfield together with the LS Typhoon and the stormtalon provides limited AA and some highly mobile support.
