New to 40k, chose Tyranids, like the flavor and fluff a lot, also seem far easier to paint since they have a lot of textures and not a lot of smooth surfaces.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated, I read and watched a lot of tutorials but struggle with highlighting and layering, I tend to paint too much and not leave enough behind.

Got some others but heres some gaunts a terv and goyles,

Working on a Tyrant conversion where I'm just reposing the tail and re basing differently.

thats a decent start there friend. and just keep practicing with your layering, blending and feathering, and you cant go wrong! it took me about 6 months to fully realise how to layer and feather properly, but its all one big progression. these look sweet though, i think a carefully applied white edge highlight on the carapaces following the curves and indentations, would make them pop a little more, but it seems like you have excellent brush control and clean lines, so keep on down that path and you'll do fine
