So one thing I was thinking about with our lovely casters was how great it was that we have different versions of them that show the different stages of their growth and progression.

I was thinking though, it would be rather nice to see some Precursor versions of our best and brightest, with Journeyman versions of existing warcaster, before they grew to the heights they currently exist at!

Another thing I would quite like to see would be some Cross faction switches for some people, so we can have one version in their original faction and then a later version after they defect for some reason. ( I know there was one of these already but I can't think of their name!)
Something like a Cygar caster realising that menoth is the one true path, or a Cryx caster going rogue and become a merc, maybe a Menoth caster becoming captured and brainwashed by Khador, and fights while strapped to a Jack?

And of course their is a lot of scope for people dying and being absorbed by Cryx and Legion!

So Would anyone else want to see some of these things and if so what would you like to see?

There was actually a 'super-prime' Stryker in a No Quarter back in Mark I, for use in scenarios set during the good king Leto's rise to power over the evil king, and the traitor magnus getting crushed like a punk. He was very much what you're talking about, but sadly he was for MK I. Khador also got Karchev before he became the man in the machine, back when he was a regular greylord (from memory at least, I'm pretty sure he was available) and that was from the battle of Dragon's Tongue (again from memory...guess its time to break out the digital No Quarters again). And again was for Mk I. I can't think of that happening in MK II yet sadly, but you could always just have a crack yourself, throw it up here and we'll help you balance it as best we can.

Well you've already got the cross faction thing with Sturgis and technically many Menoth casters were Khadoran once upon a time.

Sturgis was the name of the one I was trying to remember, and the one that made me think of this in the first place

I always felt that in w40K there was not enough progression of the Special Characters and love that in warmachine there is a sense of moving forwards.

I would just like to see some more moving in different directions as well as forwards

I'll have to look up those MK1 casters and see if I can do other casters similar to them!
I won't go into making rules though, I'm sure I don't have enough of a grasp of the game to make balanced rules!

We will see the current named Juniors become full warcasters once the current story arc wraps up and we start the next one.

None of them were Warcasters for Khador though. Kreoss emigrated when he was a teenager, Reznik was kicked out for being too zealous, both were found to have Warcaster abilities once they had moved to the Protectorate.

The thing about casters switching factions is you have fans on all sides. If someone's favorite caster switched sides then that would seriously piss off some people.

They were able to get away with it for Sturgis because it happened in the video game and they released both versions at once.

Also, if you had too many it would just get silly.

But if you read thru the fluff there are a number of casters and characters that started off as one faction and ended up somewhere else. Deneghra is probably the most obvious and famous. You also have Magnus. I think Mortenebra was CoC at one time (may just be rumors, not verified)

You also have plenty of internal strife in the factions like the Cygnaran rebellion, etc.

I'm not sure if it was ever officially confirmed, but there's a pretty reasonable supply of tangential evidence to the point I'm ok with accepting it. I'm just hoping for a No Quarter theme list that will confirm it by letting us play Mortinebra with CoC vectors in her battlegroup.

Pretty sure that it is mentioned on her pages in the army book. As one of my fave Casters I would love to see a theme list like this, although I highly doubt it unless they were to switch her back to CoC (maybe reprogrammed) as her Epic version?

I need to go over the fluff for Thyra, I was thinking it would be fun to have her when she first begins her warcaster training.

Give her stats of a Daughter of flame and a couple of her spells, like occulation and carnage and a mini feat to swap the position of her and one of her jacks and we would be good to go
