Just finished our annual 40k Tournament, in which my Boyz claimed 2nd place.

It was held over 8 weeks, knock-out stages, with me playing 6 games in total.
Not many restrictions, force must be Battleforged but multiple Detachments, Forgeworld (no 30K) and experimental are all allowed.

I took a single CAD - lead by the Mental Genius that is Big Mek Wingnutz!

So Big Mek Wingnutz and the Lootas go in the Stompa and keep it going. Thinkin' Kap helps with Warlord Traits, if I get Infiltrate it goes with the Boyz and Bustas. Second Big Mek joined the Deffkoptas.

First Knockout stages saw me beat Space Marines (including a Reaver Titan), Chaos Marines and Necrons.
Quater Final against Eldar (Wraithknight, spiders, serpents - the usual).
Semi-Final was against Space Wolves (flying Dogs and Arjax, tougher than they look).
Final was the first and only loss, against Inquisition/FW Knights/Sisters melta spam.

Kustom stompas are lots of fun!

Something I've always wondered about the krusha ball - when you use its ability to swing it and cause str D hits in a line 2D6" long, is that in the shooting or assault phase?

It's kind of like an close combat attack, but I thought utilizing it in the shooting phase made the most sense.

I played it as the Assault phase, it's a little vague in the rule but everyone was happy for it to be done then.

The one army SoB can really crushinate is orks. All the flames they can bring. Ugh. And Dominions with their melta shenanigannery? Pass.
My primary armies are Orks and SoB, so I get to see both sides of the field, as it were.

Aye was a Melta / Flamer spam. With a Knight Castigator!
Was almost like it was tailor-made to go against Orks.

Yeeep. Them Sister of Blisters sure know how to eff a greenskin up.

Thanks, was a fun list, but I think the Unkillable Kustom Stompa was a little too much "Eggs in one basket".

I'm assembling a Kill Krusha, so next list will be an armoured rush! Maybe with Bully Boyz...

Well it says "unengaged" so played as used instead of charging.

So you either charge into combat, or swing the ball.

I'll have to give that some thought, hadn't considered it. Sounds plausible, though I hate to give up a charge. But I can see the balance in playing it that way.

It was for its potential use against FMC's which made me take it.

They don't have as much protection as Flyers do

What were the missions? Cause, to be honest, i hardly see this list dominating in maelstorm with so few models.

Eternal war. We covered all 6 by the final.
Next annual tournament will bring in Maelstrom, so I'll be going for something very different.
