So, there's an 1850 tourney in my area in a month or so, and after doing pretty well in a doubles tourney last month, I'm contemplating actually playing a solo tournament (which I usually skip, because wargaming nerds actually competing generally care 500% more than I can).
Anyway, it's two CADs, so i can get Ob Sec with my Troops. I'd split them up, but instead I'm going to post them as deployed. But basically the Heavy slots are the divisor.
HQ: Big Mek, MA, Tellyport, DLS, BP, Killsaw, Ammo Runt
Mek
16 Choppaz+Nob w/BC
Battlewagon w/ram, rokkit
Painboy w/BP
Mek
17 Choppaz + Nob w/PK
Battlewagon w/ram, rokkit
Painboy w/bp
Mek
17 Choppaz + Nob w/pk
Battlewagon w/ram, rokkit
9 Shootas + nob w/bc, bp
10 Flash Gitz
2 x Gun Wagons w/ram, TL big shoota in squadron
9 Shootas + Nob w/BC, BP
8 Tankbustas + Nob w/BP
2 x Gun Wagons w/ram, TL big shoota in squadron.
Normally I'd run a warboss set up like the Big Mek, but I wanted to try something a bit different. Comments and pointers? I want to swamp them with bodies and high - AV transports, with the specialized troops hunting what they can kill best.

Forgot to put that on. They come with a twin-linked big shoota for free.

That's a nice wagon rush!
Swapping the Big Meks KMB for a Killsaw works well, extra Attack with added Armourbane (and you'll be shooting the Tellyport anyway).

It's a Forge World unit.
Bit like a Battlewagon-Lite. Less transport, slightly less armour.
Rules are in Imperial Armour 8.

So, where woukd I shave for Killsaw points? I was thinking a tankbusta, and then use the extra 3 pts fir an ammo runt for the big mek, JIC that Tellyport Blasta scatters back into my face.

Might be the best idea. You're pretty tight on points, no obvious place to shave any off!

Did you buy the gunwagonz or did you just modify trukks? furthermore how much would it cost to get gunwagonz and buy the rule book for them?

Gun wagons don't have a kit so using a looted rhino or battle wagon would be the best option. Personally, I'd go with the battle wagon because it has similar profile, but the picture in the IA:8 book looks like a looted rhino. Also I believe the IA:8 is down to 40.00 EURO.

It used to have a model, but Forgeworld have stopped producing them.
They're very much like the original Rogue Trader era Battlewagons, but with tracks instead of wheels at the back. Same size. Ive still got one of those old relics, so it's become my Gunwagon
A rhino would be a good start if you wanted to build one.

Times like this I wish I had more vehicle bits to throw on to a model. I might go ebay some rhinos and modify them....however I will never pay 40 euros which i believe is like $70 for a F*cking rule book that i want to use 1 page from.

the list look great!
would personally change the big mek with a warboss and the flash gitz with more tank bustas, but otherwise great! then add another nob with power klaw into the war bosses squad
reason for this is that you CERTAINLY dont want your boyz (of which you have many) to have to charge a transport to get at whats inside as they will get another load of shooting. you want to pop the transports to charge the juicy yummies inside

I usually run a warboss, and was looking to try something a little different. Same for the flash gitz, just not a unit I field. Automatically Appended Next Post: grendel083 wrote:Might be the best idea. You're pretty tight on points, no obvious place to shave any off!
I take that as a sign of a list well configured.
