Hello everyone, relatively new Flames of War player here who needs a push in the right direction. I've long been wanting to field a US paratrooper unit but am lost on which source book to purchase. As far as I can see there are several different books that cover them but would like to know which is best. On top of that, I've never been a lover of painting lots of infantry so I was wondering if there were any armored lists that would be fun to play with paratrooper support. Any advice would be much appreciated

Overlord, Market Garden and Nuts! are the books with LW US Paratroopers IIRC.

I just completed a Volksgrenadier company and US 101st Easy Company from the "Nuts" supplement. It might seem intimidating but I have a very fast method for painting infantry if you are interested. I am going to post a video of the 101st tomorrow, but for now here's how I base my Volksgrenadiers (101st are the same): http://youtu.be/lS8fK0513Rc
I completed both of these armies from assembly in a month, working an hour every few days. Chat me up if you want help.

There is nothing more rewarding than painting and basing a whole infantry company. the NUTS armored support is great. You can fit 2 Easy Eights, a Jumbo and 4 hellcats in a 101st list very easily.

I have been a American PAra player since i first started playing, the first i would recommend is playing the list from thr Nuts Intel book. As a PAra player you will need a decent amount of arty and the Glider rifle are your friend. As a matter of fact i swiched oover to the Glider rifles.
Also one of the good things about nuts is that PAras get extra zooks and the Glider rifles get extra zooks and 50 cals.

Never leave home without paying for extra bazookas in Nuts if you have the option!

Brometheus: Amazing volksgrenadiers, loved the video. Sadly I already have a load of Finns so my winter itch has been scratched

Col. K.: Please enlighten me as to the difference between paras and glider troops, I've never considered them!

Gliders are Confident, not Fearless, and are organized like Rifle Companies 2 platoons and a weapons squad.

They have Rifle Teams not R/MG teams (thought you should always save the points by downgrading the Paras to Rifles if available). Gliders have 3 teams per squad instead of 2

The Glider Weapons Platoon has 2 60mms and 2 LMGs.

when i started playing i was all gung ho for the fearless rating. but it really doesnt matter that much as it is for skill checks. but i do prefer the veteran status as 4 are better than 3s.
