Hey Dakka,
The folks at World's End Publishing (visit http://www.worldsendpublishing.com & http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/0/630582.page to see more) were kind enough to send me a copy of some of their WIP rules for This Is Not a Test, an upcoming post-apocalyptic roleplaying skirmish game that they're working on. I (ironically) did a test game earlier this evening, and had a great time. Here, I will update my progress in building and painting some warbands that I'll be using in future play-throughs and campaigns of TNT.
Here is a link to the gallery, for additional photos: http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/images-92505-46175_This%20Is%20Not%20A%20Test%20-%20Midwestern%20Wasteland.html

Up first :
=\ The Mongoloid Clan /=
The clan is a congregation of curiously deformed and violent mutants, who worship the mystical being known as the 'Almighty Eye.' Their clan first received its name from the graffiti left by rival tribes, which contained snide remarks regarding their oftentimes disfigured faces and odd bodily proportions. Rather than taking offense, the clansmen embraced their label and have been referred to as such, since then.
I mostly made these out of the Ork Gretchin kit, however there are bits several from the IG Command Squad, Assault on Black Reach, and the Ogre Kingdoms Scrap Launcher kit.

Spooks - Prophet of the Almighty Eye

The photos make him look a bit orange and the eye is much neater in person, but I'm still pretty happy with the results.
Fluff:
Spoiler:
Only once per several litters is a member of the Mongoloid Clan born with the gift of interpreting the will of the Almighty Eye. The actual signs of divine selection are incredibly difficult to pinpoint and seem to change with each prophet’s rise, but the gravity of their decrees is absolute. Because many ‘chosen ones’ attempt to channel these visions through the consumption of glowing water from the rivers of the Underlands, their expected lifespan is brutally short and riddled with digestive issues. There is oftentimes tensions between the clan’s prophet and patriarch, however, most ‘chosen ones’ have enough tact to stay alive and out of the way.

Red - Patriarch of the Mongoloid Clan

This photo is pretty blurry, but I plan on taking some better photos once I've got a proper light-box setup.
Fluff:
Spoiler:
Following the death of his father/cousin, the clan’s previous patriarch, Red inherited the porcelain throne of leadership as ruler of the Mongoloid Clan. Much like his predecessors, Red is hellbent on instilling the righteous virtues of the Almighty Eye upon the denizens of Nebrahoma, even if this entails the extensive use of violence and manipulation.

Daisy - Eight Feet of Sensitivity and Affection

I'm pretty proud of the GS straps that I made for his metal shield, even if it's a bit simple. Since this is a fairly large model, it was hard to get the perfect angle to see all of the details. There are more in the gallery, though, if you'd like to get a more complete view.
Fluff:
Spoiler:
Although the true family lineage is inextricably convoluted, Daisy is considered to be the youngest brother of Red, the clan’s patriarch. His interests include picking rad-posies and giving big hugs to family and strangers alike. While Daisy's vocabulary is limited to a handful of short phrases and noises, he listens attentively to the troubles and woes of his friends and offers advice (even if it’s in gibberish). When the clan wishes to rile him up, they simply tell him that the enemy ‘hurt their feelings’ or that they need some ‘extra big hugs,’ and he begins a warpath of benevolent violence and destruction.

Mongoloid Goons - Too Strong to Sit Back, Too Weak to Be In Charge

These are all very lightly converted, and I've got a few more on the bench waiting to be painted.
Fluff:
Spoiler:
The majority of most influential mutant families’ fighting forces are composed of a seemingly endless supply of militiamen, armed with whatever measly firearms and blunt weapons can be found. The Mongoloid Clan is no different, and sports ranks of malnourished and deformed grunts, all wishing to gain the favor of their (literal) brethren and earn their own place in the family’s folklore.

Here's a little teaser of what I'm working on for the next warband. Right now it's a bit messy, but I hope that it piques your interest. I'll be experimenting more and more with GS as this blog progresses, so stay tuned for that. These guys will be a bit more sinister and well-armed. I'm thinking about basing the cronies on the Chaos Cultists, since they've already got a nice post-apocalyptic aesthetic to work with.
Spoiler:

To be honest, I'm not quite sure if I'm content with their bases or not. I was going for a grey asphalt, and I think that I did an alright job, but they might benefit from road stripes or something. What do you guys think?

I think you are right about the bases. I would paint some yellow or white strips down them in places and add scrap newspaper and other trash.

Thank you. I swear that I've done more work on these guys, I'm just juggling three simultaneous projects and a pretty hectic schedule. With the official launch of TNT not long ago, I have some more inspiration to get working. This Summer, I'm really hoping that I'll be able to start a full campaign.

[copy+pasted from my P&M post]
While I tried to sculpt this lil' guy a gasmask back in March, I'm only now getting somewhere with finishing up the miniature. Sculpting armor plates with the Brownstuff is an absolute joy. It's so much easier to work with than Greenstuff is on hard edges. I'm also fairly pleased with how the more organic details turned out (i.e. the belly which I had to do from scratch because GW doesn't think that ogres deserve internal organs), although I'm starting to see know what its weaknesses are. There's some cleanup to be done, but I think he'll be ready to paint by this weekend.
[TL;DR - I'm making a spooky mutant with a gas mask, and Brownstuff is fun, but not perfect.]

Shame you haven't updates in a few months . I was enjoying the pictures and small bits of exposition that went with them. I hope you post another update eventually

I'm glad to hear that you've enjoyed reading through it! I've been busy painting a big batch of Infinity miniatures and keeping up with some other non-wargaming projects, but I'd certainly like to return to this soon. It was a real blast to paint these buggers, and I'd hate to leave them unfinished.
