Anyone with pie plates is gonna wreck you though.
I'm going to say this as politely as I can. Respectfully, none of this advice is even remotely accurate. You cannot "Gauss Down" an Adamantine Lance (By far the most common way to encounter knights in the competitive meta). They have rerollable invul saves and will often be 3++ to begin with. Even if he was in rapid fire range with all his gauss with say, 2 ghost arks in support and hadn't lost a single Necron warrior he'd be putting out 80 gauss shots. That's about 53 hits and let's be generous and say 9 glances. He'll save 6 and reroll leaving ONE hull point removed. Then, the entire lance will be in charge range. They will template him, charge him, stomp him and sweep him. Game over.
Speaking of pie plates though, they're not very effective against Necrons in general. Even those that ignore armor saves and cause instant death (so a battle canon for example) is going to score 3 hits against properly spaced warrior squads
AT BEST. That's 3 wounds at best and 2 dead Necrons with the 5+++ from
ID. Two. That's assuming no resorb, no Orikan, no cryptek to keep the
RP at 4+.
He is trying to create a deathstar which when built properly with multiple veils, multiple warscythes and swords and boards can be very effective competitively. 2 ghost arks are not his solution. If the
OP wants the deathstar, he has to commit the points to maximize its utility.
