So this is my first WIP thread.
It has most all of the parts I wanted to use attached, but needs to be sanded/filed and finished before being painted. The pose isn't my favorite, but this is the prototype as I will be building at least two more. It is equipped with psycannon and incinerator as well as greatsword and teleport thingy.
The main goal was to not have the baby carrier terminator situation. Let me know what you think.

I can dig it. I like the use of the Contemptor dreadnought body, makes it look more knightly.

Shadowrun is the best game ever. It's the only thing I have ever played in which I have jumped out of a shot out van with a chainsaw to cut a flying drone in half before leveling a building with ANFO assisted by a troll, a dwarf, an elf, and a wizard. |

was the body insta-molded? because it looks like GS, if so then it came out wonderfully, with no detail loss whatsoever! Ah correction, on looking at the model close up, its resin isn't it, which makes sense as the kit is FW right? I dont play marines so have no clue about models in that area Really like the non-baby carrier style loving the greatsword too!

Brilliant conversion, the Contemptor breast plate really makes it work, I'm surprised it fit so well, I never realized they were that big.

Thank you all for the feedback. I really appreciate it!
Yes, the breastplate is a contemptor one probably not actually from FW though. It took a lot of fiddling with to get it on there right. Originally the whole upper body of the dreadknight was assembled (front of chest, back, and power plant) then I hit it and the contemptor body with the dremel for awhile until the meshed together.
I thought the halberd only appropriate because it's Grey Knight-y.
Anyone have thoughts on a different approach for the personal teleporter. I went with something a little less common (and possibly lazy) and placed two sensors I think from a Land-Raider sponson into the right shoulder socket. I was thinking that maybe one was an uplink to a Strike Cruiser in orbit and the other one was a designator that the dreadknight would point toward where it wants to go and the strike cruiser does all the teleporting for it.

Thank you sir!
Since the pictures have been posted I have gotten some more of the filing done on the green stuff, but still have a ways to go. I will throw more pictures up here when I start getting paint on it (or if changes get made before then).
I was thinking about shortening up the halberd a little bit because it seems a little too tall, but I am still on the fence about that. I think as it is now it is about twice the height of the model give or take and I might want to bring it down to one-and-a-half times the model's height for aesthetic reasons. Thoughts?

Nah I like the length, i'd ordane the pole with scrolls and details, but I like the length. Makes it look like when he comes in to wield that monster masher he comes in hard with some nice wide slicing arcs. Laying waste to swaths of puny heretics. I agree with your much earlier post about leg position. He does have a nice guard style pose, but with your next one i'd go as dramatic as possible

I agree with making the next few more dynamically posed. In the first few pictures there is another set of dreadknight legs laying down. They are for the next one I am building. They are in a deeper stance and that dreadknight will be posed with the arms down low and the halberd pointing forward like he is getting ready to run someone through. Like the guy on the right-side of this picture:

Like the use of the contemptor body and the defiler head(which I use on all 3 of my DK's) really adds a ton to the model. Excellent conversion and I may steal a few ideas if I decide to go rediculous and do a dreadknights army ;p
Edit:what did you use for the gorget/collar? I really like it.

Thank you.
I am planning on having at least 4 for fun so I will have some time to practice and make the next few look better (hopefully).
I used the very top part of one of the venerable dread sarcophagus pieces. It is the just below and left of the central sprue circle in the picture below and can be picked up off ebay as well.
Feel free to ask me anything about the conversion I would be glad to share the method/parts used for those interested.

Yah that was such a nice touch, thanks for the reply!
And having done 3 full boat dreadknights conversions myself I feel like I have a good idea on how you did stuff, but I'll definately toss a question your way if one comes up.
