Jealous that Horus is Warmaster
|
HQ:
Farseer on Jetbike - 115 Points
Troops:
4 Jetbikes with 4 Scatter Lasers - 108 Points
3 Jetbikes with 3 Shuriken Cannons - 81 Points
Lord of War:
Wraithknight with 2 Heavy Wraithcannons - 295 Points
Total: 599 Points
Any recommended changes are appreciated as I don't have most of the units anyway. As you can see this list isn't designed to make friends (Not like it's hard with the new codex!).

Is there money on the line? Otherwise give yourself a chance to get better at the game and don't take a Wraithknight or any d weapon at 600 pts. It's not good for the game or your friends count.

As in a competition at school?
I guess you're in your teens. Please don't contribute to ruining the game for your current generation. You'll have much more fun competing than just auto winning.

Now that you got that out of your system I will explain. School's League is a tournament played between schools across England. Their teams consist of 4 players aged 12-18. Our team has gone all the way to the National Finals in Warhammer World after winning all of our games in the semi-finals. These are some of the best young Warhammer players in the country so excuse me for trying to make a powerful list to win games and contribute to a team effort of winning the entire competition.

So what we are trying to get across though I suppose is how do you want to win?
With this list even if you take the thing make no mistake no one will consider it because you are part of "some of the best young Warhammer players in the country".
The best analogy i can think of is steroids, sure you won but can you really feel that good about it? Was it skill or because you won before skill even came in to play?

Wow, a lot of hate here.
Good for you for trying this! I voted in your previous poll. I think this list is pretty insane, and that's a good thing. I can't think of anything that's going to have a solid plan against it EXCEPT for another new-Eldar codex, which you can expect there to be plenty of if it's this high a level of competition.
How long do you have until the competition? Since this is 14-18, how's your grades in statistics? You may be able to run some numbers to further refine your list using a probability study.

The great thing about the internet is that you can just ignore the hate.
With 3 months, and it being an intra-school conflict, find your math and/or statistics professor and see if they will help you create a probability study. You need a few things:
#1 - Rough idea of how many teams there's going to be.
#2 - Work with your team to develop an idea of what the top 3-5 armies will look like.
#3 - Use a bell curve to describe the distribution of these 3-5 armies.
#4 - Analyse and come up with a rough probability of your success (both going first and going second) for each of these armies.
#5 - Use this information to conduct the probability study, identifying problem matchups and at what points during the games you're likely to face them.
#6 - Refine your list and run the simulation again, seeing if your probability of making it to the end is increased or decreased.
#7 - Continue this refinement as long as you can!
It's a LOT of work, but you will push you and your team further. There's a lot of math involved in this, so you should be able to get this counted as an extra-curricular for the semester, or get some other in-school reward.
PM me if you need some additional help, but try your teachers first (it's been 6 years since I've done one of these studies).

Don't listen to anyone. It's a tournament and it's a legal list. If you're winning at all costs then this is strong. The only thing if be tempted is trying to get the spirit stone on the seer. But that would require dropping a scatter bike.... So I'm not sure if that improves the list or makes it worse.

Welcome to Britain no such thing as extra credit
On the subject off this list it's a bit dickheady but I don't thing many people understand that by no means will you be alone in these kind of lists, if you cant beat em join em

WTF is up with all this hate? If its a competitive team environment, then not only should he be trying to make as hard of a list as he can, he owes it to his team mates to do so!
My ATC team and I spend months studying the meta and trying to anticipate what types of lists will be in predominance at the event and then try to come up with the hardest, meanest, break your faciest lists imaginable!
And you know what, when your playing at the top tables against other teams who did the same......ITS INCREDIBLY FUN!

Well what's the counter to this list? This list only has 9 models on the board. Sure it's 600 points, but only 9 models. And jet bikes arent fearless (at least i hope not I havent read the new dex) So losing 1 of the 4 would qualify as a ld check.
So lets say there's space marine player who has one pod loaded out with a full tac squad, no special weapons, Let's even say they are Imperial Fists. Now this scenario is just basic marines mind you. so we are looking at 10 rapid fire bolters. 20 shots, bs3 rerolling 1s means ~15 hits. t4 bikes means 7 wounds, 3+ armor means 2.3 unsaved wounds. so one vanilla marine pod will cut that 4-squad unit in half on average. Theres a chance they could get the whole squad, and a chance they could make the flee.
Something else to be afraid of. Orks KMK. Long range, s7 ap2 blast. plus, these guns run less than 20 pts each. So you could easily go against an army with like 6 of these in a 600 pt list. You will still be able to hide behind some LOS blocking cover, but the kannons are t7 so those s6 shots will still only be wounding on 5s.
What type of missions are we looking at? objective? killpoint?
