Subject: Eastern front mid war?

Wolf Guard Bodyguard in Terminator Armor

Hey guys,
Looks like my bro in-law is thinking of starting a Russian force and joining me in flames of war .
I have a late war German and British force based on normandy plus I am starting an early war eastern German army.
We have both barabossa and desperate measures but just wondered what is the mid war book. Would be cool to get a campaign going later down the line covering the invasion of the Russian home land right up to the fall of Germany.

Ah imaginative book name lol.
Will carry on building up our latewar forces and then move onto early war. By then they may have revisited the mid war book.

Actually Eastern Front still shows up on BFs web store so it may be available. North Africa is the MW book that's definitely out of print.

Eastern Front is pretty good, lacks a few bits as it was written for the last version of the rules - say for example the Soviet forces at Kursk have no option to take any fortifications (as that used to be in the main army book). Its probably the best balanced period simply because there are only two books.
Of the two Eastern Front is probably stronger simply for the troubles some of the Africa lists have dealing with Soviet tank hordes but both are fun.
As for whats in it, well for the Germans you have army and SS lists, including an SS T-34 list and a good few oddball bits of equipment, several types of tank lists, lots of "mix and match" tank lists.
Soviets have Red army (conscripts) and Guards (Trained) plus a militia list (confident conscripts) by eck there is a lot of them, and again a range of armoured and infantry lists, plus a cossack cavalry list and a few others.
Its a good book, the only downside it has for competitive stuff is the 1942 stuff has no chance against the late 1943 stuff - when its re-done I seriously hope its several smaller books for the different key periods which will make themed events a lot easier.
Its probably a good one to get second hand at a discount as its unclear how long it will be about for, personally expect MW to be redone next year
