I have to say, for 2k you've really not got many models. I see why you're taking a royal court but you'll buff one unit to become a one hit wonder and it'll get tarpitted or left in the backfield.

At 2k you cna fit in a legion, 2 harvests, a desroyer cult and a judicar battalion. Just saying.

ITC does not allow duplicate formations in a composite detachment like Decurion so I wouldn't be able to play two harvests. Also most events in my area are 1850 not 2k.

That said you are correct about that unit and it is a concern. Its mitigated somewhat by having Zandrekh who can try to borrow H&R if my opponent has it or stand there with Zealot warlord trait and not have to worry about being swept.

An alternate variation drops the RC, Doubles the number of TB and Fills out the DC to 4 man Squads with a sqaud of HD. But I also lose Zandrekh for a base OL w/ SS and the army becomes very generalized. My concern in play testing is I dont kill alot with it and have to rely too much on my survivability to win games depending on my opponent.

More in the original reclamation legion, and a canoptek harvest.

Get some night scythe if you please.

I think, barring windriders, necron troops with the 4 up RAP and relentless from this formation on great.

There is nothing they can't kill and not much that can kill them. If you have enough troops I guess that counts as anti air, tank, and MC.

I would spam troops and I'm not afraid to say it.

Ah yes Night Scythe - too many Tau players with intercepter. Would like to run the Bommer but the event Im prepping for doesnt allow IA.

I have seen great things done with the Harvest and its my fall back but for now I wanna give the DC a try.

Thank you all for your input. Gonna get some more games in and see where it lands.

Those pyhrian eternals...just man. I have always wanted to make them work but that is just so many points into a deathstar that isn't really a deathstar. I mean shooting wise you have the 20 rapid fire s5 ap4 gauss shots(respectable) a couple staffs of light so 6 s5 ap3 shots, and then of course the guantlet.

So a decent amount of shooting, you should be able to kill just about any inf squad on arrival(unless it's and equally tough deathstar) or since you have the gauss you could probably take aprox 2 hp off a vehicle.

Cc not so good, the gauntlets of fire can re roll hits so that's ok but you have little ap and initiative 2. I guess anrakyr has mind in the machine, a tach arrow, and a warsythe. So that's something.

Survivability, necrons duh, this has got it in spades. Especially with the solar staff. Could be t6 due to szeras or s6 but that buff only apples to the unit of pyrhrian eternals, not any of the ics in the squad.

I am skeptical but would love to hear how it goes. My opinion though is you can get more out of a lychgaurd deathstar with orikan than you can with this deathstar if that is how you want the army to play.

Thanks all for the responses.

I did some shuffling around of HQs and bought a second squad of blades with the left over points.

After several games of testing I have found most people ignore the immortals deathstar and go after my destroyers. It also overkills anything it looks hard at (I have wiped 5 man tac squads with the SoL's alone.) It also sucks when they mishap.

Still more testing going on this weekend.
