Hello, once again...starting to play 7th Edition after a decade long hiatus. My Nobz are metal, my Ghazgull model weighs 5 pounds, and my Trukks look like tiny Klown Karz. But I want to build on the ~1300 points I have...so here's what I have from ten years ago:

Ork Army (1314)

HQ

1 x Warboss with Mega Armor, Bosspole, Cybork Body, Da Finkin Kap, Da Lucky Stikk (135)

Elites

3 x Meganobz with Cybork Bodies, and 2 Kombi Rokkit Launchas (145)

1 x Trukk with Red Paint Job, Reinforced Ram, Grot Riggers (50)

Troops

20 x Slugga Boyz + 1 x Boss Nob with Bosspole, Power Klaw, Eavy Armor, Cybork Body (175)

10 x Slugga Boyz + 1 x Boss Nob with Bosspole, Power Klaw, Eavy Armor, Cybork Body (115)

1 x Trukk with Red Paint Job, Reinforced Ram, Grot Riggers (50)

10 x Slugga Boyz + 1 x Boss Nob with Bosspole, Power Klaw, Eavy Armor, Cybork Body (115)

1 x Trukk with Red Paint Job, Reinforced Ram, Grot Riggers (50)

16 x Shoota Boyz/Eavy Armor + 1 x Boss Nob with Bosspole, Power Klaw, Cybork Body (231)

Fast Attack

4 x Warbikers + 1 x Boss Nob with Bosspole, Power Klaw, Cybork Body (135)

5 x Stormboyz + 1x Stormboy Nob with Bosspole, Big Choppa (74)

Heavy Assault

1 x Mek Gun [Kustom Mega-Kannon] 4 Gretchin, 1 Ammo Runt, (39)

Now what I REALLY want to do with the army is buy the Big Mek in Mega Armour squad, the Stompa (which is around 700 points I believe), and throw the Big Mek along with the Shoota Boyz into the Stompa and have it be the centerpiece of my army sporting a sexy Kustom Force Field, with a swarm of Slugga Boyz slogging, Boyz in Trukks, and Boyz just generally being Boyz. I'm not trying to be competitive or win a ton, I just think this would be a fun way to play Orkz, any critiques or suggestions?

You got the right idea boss. It`s all about the boyz. I`d say make the foot slogging squads even bigger if you can.

Get a painboy into that meganobz squad and they`ll be dead `ard.

More mek gunz is seldom a bad idea. Lobbas are cheap, and very killy too. Kustom mega kannonz are powerful but pricey.

Ork flyers are a blast, Dakkajets are killer, and blitza bommas are decent at anti-tank.

You had a look at the Horde detachment? extra HQ slot and potentially HoW for boyz on the charge is great with big mobs.

Thanks! How are Stompas in a LGS setting? Too stompy/cheesy? I wanna have a bunch of foot sloggers but at the same time have a big ol stompy Deff Star with the Big Mek and the Big Gunz.

WAAAAAAGH! Welcome ya git! There are some really great things about this list but there are things I would change. Pick a theme and stick with it. Foot sloggin, speed freaks, kan wall whatever floats your boat. Orks need the dedication. Mega nobz can't take cybork bodies. Trukks will die so why upgrade them. I run my trukks with a big shoota and a reinforced ram. ((don't forget that you can ram people)) Lastly stompas are ridiculously fun. I run mine full of meks. In the last game I ran one I had 15 repair rolls a turn. That thing ain't dying.

'Nids growing soon
3500 pts. unpainted
Admech 1000 buying & building
If you don't enjoy playing against people with unpainted armies, break into their house when they sleep, paint their figures for them, help yourself to their cheerios and then your problems will be solved.
Well, my opponents usually don't have more than 1-2 Wave Serpents 'cos Serpent spam is very expensive in real life money.
