I was just wondering if there are any rumours as to when AM will get their share of the juicy new formations

I haven't read nothing yet. I don't think there is any. If it's not in the News and Rumours section, then I would say there is no rumours about it.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

On moon miranda.

There won't be anything for another year most likely, maybe longer. IG got their current book only about a year ago, and as uninspiring as it is, it'll probably be a while until a new one comes out, and who knows how the design philosophy will change in the mean time.

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.

New Heavy Gear Log! Also...Grey Knights!
The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.

Too soon.

See, different armies have different times before you get new rumors of them.

Space Marines: One minute after the most recent release.
Orks, IG, Eldar, Tyranids: A couple years after the most recent release.
Tau, Dark Eldar: Three or more years after the most recent release.
Sisters of Battle: You're joking, right?

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

While I would like the chance/risk of a new IG codex, I dont foresee one popping up for maybe another year unless we are very lucky. Or unlucky depending on what it may bring to the table.

Though, it doesn't exclude their appearance in supplement material - e.g. a campaign (e.g. Shield of Baal, etc) - and getting an update that way.

Pretty much this. Expect SM, GK, AdMech and Space Wolves to get almost instant updates, especially the Sm, to keep them at the top of the current meta.
The current IG codex is by far and large to be a massive waste. Forget it ever standing up against other codexes without insane amounts strategy on the part of the IG player. Hell, even Ork (Yes, thats right, ORK) players find the current IG codex a pushover. All in all there are about 5 viable choices in the whole lot.

But Melissa, be fair. There was a Sister of Battle codex update only what, 5,6, maybe 7 years ago? 8 maybe? They must be an epic and all conquering army [/sarcasm]

If there's no new models released, it ain't an actual codex release

I actually think that, aside from being all metal (which I love anyway, but many don't) the Sisters have held up much better than any of their contemporaries.

If I've understood the rumors correctly, Age of Sigmar releases are basically set to consume the next 3-4 months. They could possibly slip in a new IG codex before the year is out, but it would most likely be a codex-only update with no new kits. What's left that needs a plastic kit: ratlings and rough riders are the only thing that immediately springs to mind?

I'd love a new Yarrick model, but I don't think it'll happen.

Best bet is that they will push out a bunch of codex's right before they release 8th edition. 8th edition will be a nerf edition...at least for the first 6 months and orks, imperial guard and the long awaited sisters codex will be released around this time. Following this, Matt wards demon child will take control of the company and say we need buffs not nerfs and will proceed to release a bunch of codex's on a new level of OP.

Honestly, I'd love to see a return of the Griffon/Medusa/Bombard to the current stable of artillery tanks, along with a combo kit that would at least allow for the Griffon, and Medusa. Having just three in the codex: Basilisk, Manticore, and Wyvern, after having five different options in the codex previous to the current one, I can't help but feel the current stable of artillery is sorely lacking. I don't count the deathstrike, which while cool, is not exactly what I would consider a realistically viable tank outside of apocalypse. Still fun to use though for sure! I plan on getting one for giggles to try out.

I'd love to see some good rough-rider kits (AND RULES....such as 2x Special Weapons for a squad, armor save upgrades options such as carapace, increased wound profile and/or toughness value) that don't require third party kits
(Not to say that third party kits aren't good or serviceable, but I'd love to see some actual Cadian/Catachan/Steel Legion/Mordian and Vostroyan torsos to put on plastic legs. Pipe dream I know but a man can dream).

Also, while the current ratling models are serviceable, some new sculpts would be nice. The metals still look decent enough though in my opinion.

The main thing I personally want to see are expanded rules for army doctrines, akin to the current Space Marine Chapter Tactics. That would allow a ton of diversity. Hopefully producing some balanced doctrines wouldn't be too difficult for GW, so there wasn't one that was abjectly better than the rest and was taken by every WAAC I.G. player.

All these things will come out in the wash later I'm sure once the rumor mill finds the next bread crumb of I.G. rumors. Time will tell. I'll keep using the current codex and while I don't win a ton of games, I do find it fun, if not challenging.

That's all I've got to add. Take it easy.

Formation out of platoons! Why can't the unit that could be a complete army get some formation rule!?!
