Subject: New Fantasy Khorne models for Chosen?

I recently purchased the new age of sigmar khorne models to convert into khorne chosen. I've already gotten my paint scheme down, but there are two issues I'm having: I'm trying to figure out a way to stick a back pack on the guys without it looking too out of place, and since they sacrifice their close combat weapons to carry the power axes I have to modify their other arms.
So here are my ideas:
BACKPACKS: using a triangular extension off the small of their back to mount the pack on or possibly running the packs jets to the pauldrons.
PISTOLS: modifying the close combat spike gloves to house a mod'ed bolt pistol, swap out hands completely.
Any suggestions? The goal I'm going for is trying to make the fantasy model look more "space"y. Tubes and cables going to a modified face mask were also an idea I was toying with.

I had a look at the models and there doesn't appear to be too much on their backs to prevent mounting a backpack. In the past, on similar models, I have modified the backpack slightly to get a good fit, or used a blob of green stuff to make the back more suitable for mounting the backpack.
If they're daemonkin or possessed, they don't necessarily need backpacks, as they are no longer human, but I can see that you might want to do something so that it doesn't look like you've just borrowed some AoS models. Some pipes and a gun would go a long towards achieving that. Perhaps a different kind of backpack would be easier to work with than the standard CSM one? There are many types out there - imperial space marine, khorne berserker, possessed, imperial guard etc.

I figures the piping might be my best bet. I'm trying to use them in a daemon kin army concept I've put together that mixes the armor of the past chaos legions of the old world, with the tech of the new ones, to show the imbalance of time in the warp. My chaos lords on juggernauts were conversion from fantasy as well.

I'm thinking of swapping out some of the axes to chain axes and putting packs on them, then shopping off the spikeyfisty and adding a bolt pistol.

Chain axes are Def khorne but I want these models to be as close to wysiwyg as possible and chosen can't take chain axes. Not to mention they wouldnt be worth the cost when you could just take berserkers instead. The spike fist can be chopped but it removes half the arm with it and it wouldn't look very symmetrical to the rest of the model to use space marine bits

I think the big ones would be really good chosen. The smaller ones may work as berzerkers, maybe? I dont know though, havent seen the sprues.
