A Rune Priest or Wolf Priest can make any unit more likely to survive... Consider a Stormwolf or a Land Raider Crusader (in the long run), since either one will hold a full squad of 15 Blood Claws, plus a Wolf Priest or Rune Priest (Wolf Priests, in particular, are great with Blood Claws, the Preferred Enemy rule making up for their poorer Weapon Skill and Ballistic Skill, plus giving the whole squad Feel No Pain 6+), and both vehicles are Assault Vehicles.
Putting the Grey Hunters in a Drop Pod (with a Locator Beacon) means your Lone Wolf can Deep Strike, rather than walking across the field.
Paintwhore99 is right, though - Space Wolves are not a strong shooty army, though there are some nice options for shooting. You'll definitely want Long Fangs (Lascannons and Missile Launchers are the weapon of choice, due to their range, but, in the long run, it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a unit with some combination of Heavy Bolters, Multi-Meltas, and Plasma Cannons for a mid-field LF crew, too). Putting a Wolf Priest or Rune Priest with them can increase their survival rates, too, since the shootier armies (Tau, Eldar, Guard) often have a lot of Ignores Cover options, too. If you're a fan of Blood Claws, in particular, then you're definitely not going to want to try to be a shooty army.
But, yeah, if you like Space Wolves, as glyder says, TWC have pretty much become the lynchpin unit, now. The newest Codex has made the models and their gear significantly cheaper than they used to be, and they are pretty much the one thing Space Wolves have that no one else does (aside from Helfrost). 3 boxes will give you 2 units of 4 plus an Independent Character of some sort, depending on how you build things, and they will tear through most things out there.
