Pulsating Possessed Chaos Marine

Hi all. I've been looking at true scale stuff online and wanted to do a simple test to see how a marine would look with terminator legs. If that would be goofy or good or ...you know ...whatever
I used space wolves as the torso cause they have all sorts of extra doodad that can help cover weird looking parts. As my marines are mercs, i just used a collection of everything I own .
I am surprised how good the look ...suddenly very proportional and appropriately bigger than IG or elder or whoever. and he dwarfs a normal marine
Opinions appreciated

The thigh-pads on the side of the hips look too terminator-esque, I'd recommend removing them. And the base is a tad small for the legs.
Other than that I'd say it'll look great so long as you paint them up well.

hes not glues to a base yet. i just don't have any of the new slightly larger bases that gw is using now....32 mm i think....Ill need to order a bunch.
I was thinking of using the thigh pads as a place to glue packs and ammo and what not...but I could cut them off and still do that. I'll do that on the next TS marines I try building

terminator legs are the way forward for true scale. the best thing to do it use a putty. i use a 1/1 green stuff milliput mix, to bulk up the space around them strut things on his upper legs and make them flush like regular sm legs if you see my meaning. if you just shave the struts off he'll have chicken legs. also, bulking out the torso makes it look better too. simply place a wedge of plastic (about 1mm thick) between the front and back plates and then fill with the same putty mix. however this does mean more modelling needs doing, as you need to cut away the under plates from the belly and love handle areas and fill them too, i also use a gs tube tool to make new pipes, and sculpt a new belt. this is where your extra kit and pouches comes in. here are some of mine. buying tartaros pattern termie legs (middle photo) negates the need for modelling on the legs, but the upper body work is still required.

Man I love the fact that used the beret heads instead of helmets. Makes them look very distinctive
Side packs and guns are doing a good job of filling in random gaps. Good call. I'll post more guys soon to compare.

yeah man i love the beret heads. makes them look more military i think. i look forward to seeing what you come up with. there are plenty of tutorials online to help if you have problems. i think youre on the right track with termie legs though, as the techniques that extend the regular sm legs often look silly and unnatural imo.

So the only terminator part is the legs? That's pretty impressive.
I've always wanted to do truescale CSM, but that would require bumping the tanks up a notch too. Which always held me back, as that seems like it would be way too much work.
But this would be so easy, I might reconsider it.

As my little force grows, I'm basically making a marine with every weapon option available. I have no idea what they will be used for but here is a pic of wht Ive completed next to the marine whom they all now affectionately call tiny. Im amazed at him much bigger they seem with just a legs swap. and some extra bags here and there. Even the heads seem larger now.
I've also decided thy should have as many packs and bags on them as possible. they are "true scale" after all
Critique welcome. Also if anyone has any suggestions on how to outfit the pending sergeant I'd like to hear your thoughts. I have a ton of bits like sterngard, chaos lords, chaos marines and terminators etc etc.

i wouldnt recommend doing a whole army with it mate! just do a couple of characters, lords etc, or maybe if youre going to make an inquisitor warband or something.

Well an army based on a simple leg swap would be easy. At least as far as infantry is concerned. Lords and Terminators, less so, but still doable. And there is less of them. I'd have to go with a different shoulder style though as I wouldn't be able to sculpt any thing resembling the chaos termie shoulders.
The thing that always held me back was vehicles. Contemptors and decimators would still look fine I reckon, normal dread would probably look a a bit weird. But the actual tanks?...tehy are already too small even for regular sized, marines... I wouldn£t know where to begin.

Well I bought 25 term legs.....so...i have to make at least 25 of them.
I suppose ill make my next one a Lord or Sergent or captain or what not. Any weapon recommendations? Things I need to add on to improve "bad assitude"
Looking good kencotter Automatically Appended Next Post: Added a over the top sergeant and a heavy bolter to the mix. Its kind of fun giving them too many packs and too many guns. I feel they are now very lore appropriate.
Should I try to make 6 more bolter marines or keep making wacky heavy and specialty weapons
comments and critiques welcome

Fair one. I still think you should put in a bit more work around their lower torso and upper legs through.

Continued my testing of Truescale. Decided to see how these sigmarines would do with just some added bobs (Spacemarines can have ultra fancy laser rifles right?) I might make my sternguard out of these since the weapons look so weird and can just be called special bolters...or..not. who knows
