Depends. If
AoS is a "success" for
GW, and only
GW can define what success means to them, then maybe
40K will get the Fantasy remake.
*Success for
GW probably relates to increase in sales. While actual money brought in would be considered, it would probably evaluated by something like "We saw an increase of 35% in our Age of Sigmar sales vs. Fantasy of last year. Projecting that increase in sales to
40K would result in "50 BILLION POUNDS

" (just joking) over the next fiscal year. Therefore, we should immediately release 8th edition Warhammer
40K with a similar ruleset to
AoS."
Such a fallacy in logic would be obvious to all
40K gamers and inconceivable.
GW has demonstrated on more than one occasion that they do not listen to the player base, and it would be like looking at the world with rose tinted sunglasses to think tht
GW is NOT discussing this very topic- if they haven't already.
Basically, it's like this: If
AoS does well, then
40K will get the
AoS treatment. If
AoS fails, then
40K will continue as is.
