That's really worry some. I don't want my huge investment to become irrelevant or lose value.

A new day, a new time zone.

No, because FB has been struggling for a long time and continuing the next edition in the same mold was not going to turn anything around. AoS might not have been the right way to shake things up, but some sort of change was needed.

Meanwhile, despite the rest of it's faults, 40k has is not suffering the same kind of stagnation that prompted that kind of shakeup. I don't know if the GW financial reports break down the per line sales, but that might shed some light on the subject.

Depends. If AoS is a "success" for GW, and only GW can define what success means to them, then maybe 40K will get the Fantasy remake.

*Success for GW probably relates to increase in sales. While actual money brought in would be considered, it would probably evaluated by something like "We saw an increase of 35% in our Age of Sigmar sales vs. Fantasy of last year. Projecting that increase in sales to 40K would result in "50 BILLION POUNDS " (just joking) over the next fiscal year. Therefore, we should immediately release 8th edition Warhammer 40K with a similar ruleset to AoS."

Such a fallacy in logic would be obvious to all 40K gamers and inconceivable. GW has demonstrated on more than one occasion that they do not listen to the player base, and it would be like looking at the world with rose tinted sunglasses to think tht GW is NOT discussing this very topic- if they haven't already.

Basically, it's like this: If AoS does well, then 40K will get the AoS treatment. If AoS fails, then 40K will continue as is.

It would be funny if GW figures out they are a game company and not a miniatures one.

I am not sure of Tam's logic (perhaps because I do not want to believe it). However, FB was definitely slowing down with most stock on shelves gathering more dust than they should have been. Whereas 40k is a pretty strong seller and has a good following of people getting into the game. (have not seen a good fantasy movie come out in the last bit so that zest for fantasy is a bit stagnant as a whole) However, the science fiction realm is constantly being pumped with movies and books that make people want to be part of it. (I see star wars games blowing up huge when the movie comes out)

Basically... I think that FB was a line that was either going to get fixed or go away, so I see AoS as a last ditch effort to save have the design studio... it does not seem that 40k is at that level yet.

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies came out only about 9 months ago. Then again, GW does sell Hobbit models, so that may not have worked in FB's favor.
