This is Overlord Amatekh. He has a lot of personality for a Necron. He is erratic, cocky, flamboyant in speech and movement, and he delights in the carnage of battle. His colors represent the geology of his tomb world. His tomb world of Mym (named after the Ancient Egyptian word for water), is a planet covered in vast oceans broken up by large deserts. The blue represents the water, and the gold represents the golden desert sands.

You've definitely got potential to become an excellent painter, and I'm glad to see that you've done up the base (which is a lot more effort than a lot of people are willing to put in). To get some better control of the paint and less loss of detail, thin your paints with a bit of water, or alternatively use a wet palette. There are simple videos all over the web to help you with this. In addition, the color combination is nice and striking, but it's pretty dichromatic right now and would benefit from few more colors to bring out the details.

Nice. As mentioned you can improve by thinning your paints.

I really like how you've picked a theme and gone to town on realising it, but a few more highlights and picking out details with other colours might compliment the model.

I like to check out the Dakka gallery of models I'm about paint to get ideas of what to make really pop.

Keep it up

The backstory is awesome and the golden metallics look sweet. The blue not so much, but I got an idea how to improve the paint job immediately and stay true to your theme! You obviously know how to use a wash on metals, try painting your blue parts silver and then apply a blue wash. It's a quick way of getting a blue metal look which probably works great with your Necrons!

It's a good start. You should try and thin the paints. That way the gold details will work better with a shade. It seems rather thick on the cloak now. Try and use some of the shades and some layering. It'll make your models look better and makes the shades in the recesses more noticeable. Maybe some edge highlighting. But it's better to practice that beforehand. It's rather hard to do beginning in a infantry like model as you have to get the hang of it.

Poor ignorant guardsmen, it be but one of many of the great miracles of the Emperor! The Emperor is magic, like Harry Potter, but more magic! A most real and true SPACE WIZARD! And for the last time... I'm not a space plumber.
