So I'm having a game against good old Tyranids soon and this person likes to spam the numbers.
Rather than taking Defilers or play tactics I thought I'd do the same and spam my bodies:
This is just for fun of course

40 Nurgle Chaos Space Marines with 8 Heavy Bolters
30 Plauge Marines with 6 Plasmaguns
15 Nurgle Bikers with 7 Melta
39 Khorne Berserkers with Chainaxes and plasma pistols where I can take them
25 Cultists
4 Rhinos with Havoc Launcher
Kharn
Nurgle Lord
Nurgle Daemon Prince with Black Mace
Khorne Lord on Juggernaut

Looks like it will be fun. I would say with 30 PM break them into 6-5 mans and take 12 Plasma (model pending if you want to stay WYSIWYG) its one of the benifits of the PM.

Also I would do 3 squads of 5 bikers. It means you only get 6 total meltas, but i think a 5 man pack is a lot stronger as they dont get a ton of attacks to start. This mean mor T6 wounds they have to chew through.

Oh I should have included how I would break then up into units
But they are more or less how you described

I would skip the rhino's and use those points somewhere else. Tyranid's have to get into close combat with you. No need to load into Rhino's and head towards them. There's enough points there to throw a defiler in for fun.

To maximize the most bodies, you just have to play the Plague Marines and Khorne Berserkers as basic Marines.

CAD 1

HQ: Daemon Prince with BM @265

Troops:
6x10 Marines, 2 Plasma Guns @170x6=1020

fast:
3x5 Bikers, 2 Melta guns@130x3=390

heavy:
2x10 Havocs, 4 HB@180x2=360

Treat your Plague Marines and KB as basic guys.

Try and find some points for psychic powers. Roll summoning so you can spam out cheap meat shields for your guys to throw at hormagaunts.

Take the hellcult formation twice and raise your cultist squads to the maximum. Answer his fearless gribbles with your fearless gribbles!
