I was toying with Battlescribe for my new project: an Imperial Fists detachment. This is what i've come up with:

HQ

Captain: AA, SS, TH, JP 175

ELITES

Dreadnought: MM, PF w/HF DP 145

TROOPS

Tac Squad: 5 men, Plasma, Combi-Plasma, Razorback w/TL Assault Cannon 170
Tac Squad: 5 men, Plasma, Combi-Plasma, Razorback w/TL Assault Cannon 170
Tac Squad: 5 men, Plasma, Combi-Plasma, Razorback w/TL Lascannon 170

FAST ATTACK

Assault Squad: 10 men, Vet.Sgt with PF 205
Stormtalon: Skyhammer ML 115

HEAVY SUPPORT

TFC
Dev Squad: 5 men, 2xLascannon, 2xML, Rhino 175

The Razorbacks block LOS to the Assault Squad with the Captain in it, hopefully bringing them relatively intact to assault.
The Dread drops in and lights up a vehicle, hopefully charging in the next turn, or going for a HF overwatchin case it's being assaulted.
The dev squad is in a rhino either for mobility and extra protection (instead of Red Shirt marines) although I sacrifice firepower to stay in there (or I can drop out and use the rhino as directional cover)
The scouts sit in a fortified ruin for a 2+ save on an objective.
I know it's not an ETC-winning list, but can I tune something up?
I'd steer away from double-demi because it can be seen as TFG-ish in my playing group.

I would recommend the Eviscerator and melta bombs in the Assault squad to help with vehicles, instead of the 35 point sgt. You can hide the eviscerator and both it and the melta bombs have armourbane (that's the way I run the skyhammer annihilation to some success).

Overall it looks fun and fluffy, probably not the hardest hitting list but there are a lot of fun units.

I would actually recommend you change the razorbacks to rhinos and fire out of the hatches. Moving into position and still firing is a problem I find since they're not fast vehicles, and with a rhino I feel the cheaper point cost and fire points just more efficient.

I'd get the dev squad up to 4 lascannons, or 2 grav cannons if they stay in the rhino to move and shoot out the hatch. Also, if you take the grav cannons, the armorium cherub is WELL WORTH the 5 points (re-rolling 5 shots that re-roll to wounds is great!)

The Dread would be best outfitted as an Ironclad IMO since they have 4 base attacks now... 6 on the charge is nice for them. I'd take 2 heavy flamers on it too and just punish some open-topped vehicles or infantry blobs (which often can't even hurt him in cc!) They are best used to pull focus away from where the rest of your army is landing it's attacks.

I'd drop the TH for a PF to save a few points on the Captain, and probably the storm shield too. He's already got a 4++ and anything instant-death you're gonna LOS anyway as most of the assault marines are just extra wounds for him. Upgrade to a CM if at all possible. At 1500 not sure if it's worth the SE investment on him then, but I guess if you have the points go for it.

Also you mention scouts but I don't see them. I'd take bolter scouts in a LSS with heavy flamer for under 100 points... one of the best units you can get.

I agree with leaving the Razorbacks as rhinos, and maybe consider swapping a plasma gun for a melta in one of the squads (with a matching combi-melta sergeant).

Use the points on a few more units. Also, I don't know how effective that JP Captain is going to wind up being. At 175 pts for just him, he better be crushing units.

Seems you're missing some points on this list; if my math is right.

Wouldn't this be better as a battle company? Swap the Dread for a Chappy and the TFC for a dev squad split the ASMs and you go from 3 razorbacks to 10.

DEMI COMPANY 1
Captain: AASSTHJP 175
Tac Squad: 5 men, Plasma, Combi-Plasma, Razorback w/TL Assault Cannon 115
Tac Squad: 5 men, Plasma, Combi-Plasma, Razorback w/TL Assault Cannon 115
Tac Squad: 5 men, Plasma, Combi-Plasma, Razorback w/TLLascannon 115
Assault Marines: Razorback 70
Devastators: 2 Lascannons: Razorback las/plas 130

DEMI COMPANY 2
Chaplain: Jump pack
Tac Squad: Razorback 70
Tac Squad: Razorback 70
Tac Squad: Razorback 70
Assault Marines: Jump Packs 85
Devastators: 2 MLs: Razorback: las-plas 120

That's 1240 and has tripled your vehicles and you've gobe from 6 ObSec units to 21!! You need an auxiliary choice and have 260 still to spend, if you want AA a AADF would allow you to upgrade guns on 2 more Razors. That is the issye with this codex any mech list you cone up with won't be as good as a gladius company...

I swapped the assault squad for a Bike squad, and the Captain is on a bike.

Don't know about Grav Cannons in Dev squad, I don't benefit from Tank Hunter, and Grav hurts vehicles only on a 6 (it isn't easy to do from my experience, my 12-grav-shot Command Squad hasn't ever immobilized something) and change the razorbacks for more bodies.

Sheesh thats eye watering. I wonder how many razorbacks GW has sold since this demi thing has come in. Add the air defence force to deal with fmc and the like. Thats gonna be a decently competitive list for maelstrom yeah?

Yeah it is amazing for Maelstrom but also for Eternal War as your opponent will struggle to kill all you ObSec, if you kill his there's not much he can do to stop you winning. Purge the Alien hurts though...
