Hello everyone,

I have decided that I want to start a Tyranid army that will have Moot Green armor and a greyish skin. I would particularly like it if my Tyranids' skin would match the color of the Crypt Ghouls in the attached image (this is not my image and all rights go to the artists involved) However, I am not able to figure out what paint scheme was used for these models; could someone please help me figure this out?

Thank you very much!

(PS are Tyranids currently a strong army?)

I can't help much with the paint scheme, but as for how well tyranids are doing...

Torrentoffire seems to indicate they are pretty much mid-range right now. I am sure that is heavily dependent on what type of tyranid lists you make, and your generalship.

I don't know exactly, but maybe white with a blue ink or a light blue base coat with a dry brush of white. You could experiment on one of your guys.

White primer, screaming skull, Coelia Greenshade then screaming skull again for highlights it looks like.

If you dont have screaming skull you can get away with Ushabti Bone.

Hello everyone again,

Thank you for your help! I was maybe thinking using a White Primer,Incubi Darkness, Coelia Greenshade, then a layer of Fenrisian Grey with another layer of Coelia Greenshade? Like would Screaming Skull be too yellow perhaps? I can't test as I dont have all the paints necessary and have a tight budget =( .

Screaming skull isn't yellow, its an off wait going more towards a bone colorway.. not yellow at all. If you budget tight use w/e you have!

If you are doing a whole tyranid army, I would avoid mixing colors, not every mix will be a 100% match to the other, and some figures may look off.
