I picked these up a while ago but have only just got around to painting more than one of them. Might use them in some form of wargaming someday (it was the original idea) but mostly I just wanted a Dalek army. Still got a load more to paint and I've ordered even more so I may add in more colours.

Started with a Planet style Gold and Black Dalek Supreme, then decided to use some of the Cushing movie colours with the all red one and the blue and silver ones.

Currently got it with two 'armies' with the red and blue bumps, 'officers' with the coloured domes, and then commanders/supreme council lot in the full colours.

I'm undecided on whether the blue officers should get black bases or if the red officers should get red ones.

There's also a small force of Varga plants made from the terrible sontaran and cyberman miniatures that came with them, wrapped in torn-apart cotton pads and dabbed with green. Proper bases for these would be better (and I suppose all of them, though it does make the Daleks a bit big.

I do need to neaten up the paintjob on a few of these, and I'm thinking of hacking some apart to make heavy weapons ones. Some more weathering might be good, particularly on some of the drones.

Looking good! I love seeing what people did with these. Dr Who Adventures freebies, right?

Yup, though I've yet to see one of those magazines in person, I just got them on ebay (horrifically overpriced of course, though I ignored the one selling them for seven quid per dalek!)

Oh! If you'd like some more, I believe I have a couple of packs I never used. I'll have to email home, but you can have them for the cost of the postage if they're there.

The mists of time

Sweet lord these are amazing. I've been looking for a Dalek army for 40k since about 2003 when I placed a big order from Black Tree and they never arrived.

I'm currently thinking that IF I do make a TV21 style golden emperor, I might actually cover it in gold leaf - I have a packet of it (and silver) lying around and need to use it in more projects Plus there's something hilarious about having real gold on it

Got some more, but as a side project I also decided to make myself a little Mossarium....I then decided it would be cool to have an abandoned, overgrown Dalek sitting in it. As luck would have it one of the minis was missing an eyestalk anyway, so I took a file to it, broke and reglued the sucker, and painted it up in a beaten and weathered look with a faint green wash to it (went with silver with black balls for this one, though its not especially clear with the grungeyness).

Really happy with how this one turned out, both individually and as part of the mossarium!

(also incuded is a pic of a clean one in there, I think the weathered one looks a lot better)

Poor thing, you did a very good job of making it look worn out. Hopefully it'll find it cosy in there.

More Daleks ready for painting! Also, a possibility for a hoverbout/transolar disc

And having mentioned the idea at the wargaming section of my tabletop society I may well use them as a substitute army for something - Necrons are the normal choice but I'm nto sure how well they actually work
