Hey mates. Currently I am building up my own custom Chapter at the moment, as while I was planning to run a Black Templar Themed list, the lack of model or bits to make that happen made it really hard to accomplish, which is why I am going with a Custom Chapter using Space Wolf Bits. Currently, I am think the Knights of Ulric, as I played a Middenhiem themed Empire list back in 8th edition Fantasy and have always been a fan of the Wolf God’s Lore. However, someone suggested the Sons of Ulric as well. Basically, my Chapter is a Knight Themed that is based off their home worlds background, which is why I went with the Knights of Ulric originally. However, do you think that is a cool sounding name for a Space Marine Chapter, or can you think of any Better ones utilizing both the Knight theme and Ulric’s background?

Other than that, only thing I am still really debating on is the paint scheme to go with. While some of my mates suggest a light Silver, I find that to be used to much whenever it comes to Knight themed lists so I am open to suggestions on what else would look good on the table top. Basically, when you hear a Space Marine Chapter called the Knights of Ulric, what’s the first color scheme you think of lol. Appreciate the help mates.

Order of Ulric?

Could use a lot of Grey Knights / Templar / Wolves bits, could be pretty cool.

Silver Armor, gold accents, lots of red robes and accents

I agree with you that is the traditional Knights of the White Wolf from Warhammer Fantasy. But I think he is trying to do something different as those colors are too similar to the Grey Knights. Hmm well, silver armor would work best overall, but I could see them looking good with Black Shoulder Pads with Gold trim and a Gold Chapter Symbol. Or even maybe White Armor with a Blue Wash would work well to give it more of a Cold, Artic feel to it.

Why not a freakishly white metal color like VGA Aluminum.

Most GK i see tend to be washed down very dull.

Also the black shoulder pads and brown cloak and fur should make em stand out from the standard GK Silver Red and White scheme.

I like Sons of Ulric the best

GK has some really cool crusader type helms
add them to SW bodies with lots of cloth and fur would look super cool i think.

The Knights Of Ulric, I really like the sound of that, great idea.

As for colours, why not go for something dark & brooding? A dark bronze, perhaps with a storm grey secondary colour? (to give a nod to the Space Wolves) Or a dark green to go with the bronze? (bnronze & red is used by the Minotaurs).

Thanks for the feedback so far. And I did consider that but I want to be able to stand out a little bit on the table top. Has anyone seen any paint schemes that have jumped out at you or stand out? There is one idea I had but I would appreciate your thoughts on that mates.

I like those colour schemes a lot. Are you going to add a colour to it as well, I get that red is too close to gk, but what about blue or green for the robes?

That said, black robes is pretty cool too

It looks good and stupid easy to knock out quickly IMO

Though perhaps add the gold used on the crest in your shoulder pads chapter symbol to help match up a bit.

Maybe Change the lenses color to green to not match some depictions of GKs.

Chapter Symbol is going to be Gold, hence why I left the shoulder Pads blank at this time. Besides that, went with this to give it more of a cold, winter feel to it which goes well with this theme I am working towards. Considered green but I think the blue will stand out a lot more in the long run but I can give both a try to see how it goes.
