Here's another shot in the dark from what you guys have been suggesting, and I wanted to see what it would look like having the HQs on bikes.

No Force Org: 1000 points

HQ: 210

Painboy w/ warbike 75
Warboss w/ warbike, power klaw and Da lucky stikk 135

Elites: 145

Kommando x4, Boss Nob w/ power klaw, Boss Snikrot. 145

Troops: 351

Slugga boyz x11, boss nob w/ big choppa, and trukk 117

Slugga boyz x11, boss nob w/ big choppa, and trukk 117

Fast Attack: 196

Warbikers x3, Warbiker Nob w/ power klaw 107
Warbikers x2, Warbiker Nob w/ power klaw 89

Heavy Support: 98

Lootas x7 98

Other things I could use Killa Kans x6, painboy x3, Burna-bommer x1, warboss x1, 10ish boyz, lootas x2, mek x1. We are planning on doing the first game in a few weeks because of painting and the like, so in that time I would like to have something formulated that has a fighting shot against them!

This. Agreed. At least give him 'eavy armor (4+). Drop the Attack Squig or Mek if you need points.

Are the Warboss and PB going to ride in one of the Trukks presumably?
Any chance you can beef up the Trukk squads to 12? You are going to take casualties, so having more bodies can only help you.
I'm a fan of Warbikers. Not sure how much the Kommandos will help you tbh.

I was planning on having the PB and boss in one of each of the boyz trukks that have a power klaw in them. I am mainly running the kommandos because I like snikrot and his ability to drop the kommandos in fun places. The list is updated from the suggestions.

Eldar and Tau are your worst matchups with this list. Tau and Eldar can neutralize trukks much easier than other armies. That being said, I'll try to help. My advice is purely optional. You should play how you want to play.

The burna bomber is the least good version of the Dakkajet kit. At such a low point level it is going to be hard to properly utilize a flier, because it is a unit that can't score, and it can't start on the table. If you really, really want to take a flier, either of the two variants is better.

Better still would be using the warbikers and pad out with some Killa Kans.

If you have 10 Lootas running them in units of 5 is better than a unit of 9. If you are going to run more than 7 lootas in a unit, I recommend that you stick one mek in there. Based on what you have not in your list: Killa Kans are terrible. They are overcosted, too slow, and too fragile. However, in lower point games, in squadrons of 1, they can be just fine. Dropping the Lootas to about 6, and adding a solo Killa Kan would probably be worth it.

One last thing you might consider. Because your 1st list had a mek in it, you might consider taking a mek as a "No Force Org" choice, and sticking him in one of the trukks with boys. A basic mek can eat a challenge, and save a nob. It increases the killing power of a squad of boyz somewhat.

The trukks were mainly being used as a way to get the boyz closer to be able to assault, though I have no idea how that would work out since I haven't actually played a game yet. As for the bikes I did get a total of 7 and hoped to put a painboy and warboss on an additional two and see how that worked out. Mostly I am just emulating what I have seen from batrep videos on youtube and hoping something will work.

If you have any thoughts on that I would love some insight

Most batreps happen at 1500 or 1850 or larger. As the points level go up the game changes somewhat. So most bat reps you've seen probably include fliers, and not Killa Kans. At a lower point level their usefulness is reversed somewhat.

Trukks are great as transports to get assault units across the table. The reason Eldar and Tau are your worst matchups is because they shoot a much higher number of shots at a much greater range than other armies in 40K. Notably Tau shoots endless amounts of Strength 5, and Eldar shoot quite a bit of Strength 6. If the Trukks blow up before they can more, then they don't do you any good.

That being said, you are building a pretty solid Take-All-Comer's core. It is strong against a vast majority of matchups. If you want to tailor to Tau and Eldar (The 2 strongest armies in the game right now by a mile), then you might look to more heavily armored transports like Battlewagons, or Gunwagons. Adding fast units that can put pressure on them like warbikers would also help.

Tau in particular are going to always give Orks problems. A subopitmal Tau list can often beat a fairly optimized Ork list. It is just the nature of the current meta. By the time you've expanded your Ork army to 2 or 3,000 points, it might have shifted with Orks having lots of gimmicks that can counter Tau.

This is a solid way to start. Swap the Flier out until you hit 1500 or so, and you'll be good.

ETA: As you start playing, If you find that you are constantly losing to your friends who are running much more points efficient armies, you can always agree to house rule the Orks to be similarly efficient. For instance if Orks could bring 25% more points to a battle, it might offset the fact that Eldar and Tau are 25% more points efficient.

I wasn't going to use the killa kans except for a possible proxy for deff dreads. The main reason I own them is because I read outdated stats and assumed they were current, plus they look awesome.

I updated the list to add in bikes because of all the suggestions and removed the bommer.
