Registration for this year's
NOVA Open tabletop wargaming convention goes live tomorrow, Feb 1, 8pm! In addition to the
convention's main tournament thread, I'd like to highlight the
NOVA 40k Narrative for the campaign and narrative oriented players in this forum.
The
NOVA 40k Narrative is an ongoing, original storyline, now entering its fifth year. There are two ways to participate in the event: Warlords play 6 games and have several council meetings to discuss strategy for their team and make critical decisions about pairings and objectives. Nightfighters play 3 games to throw their forces into the battle. Although there will still be prizes, this year's event is going to emphasize campaign and narrative play even more than before. In addition to discussing and choosing optimal match pairings for their players and armies, the warlords will also be picking mission objectives and narrative goals. Individual players will also choose specific technical skills tracks for their army, giving it a boost toward specific narrative mission objectives such as hacking equipment or treating civilians, that will progress over the course of the campaign.
Although many of the mechanics and storylines are still under development, the basic details of the event are already available in its
primer.
Registration opens tomorrow and usually fills, so don't miss out!
