-Void Shield Generator. For 100 points you can have an AV13 all round building that gives all units with at least one model within 12" of it protection from all shots originating from beyond the 12" bubble. Said protection consists of three AV12 shield layers, each of which has to be glanced or penetrated before it can be taken down. It essentially renders your army - or at least a good portion of it - immune to enemy fire unless the enemy has enough high strength weapons. Ottherwise they have to get close enough to be able to shoot you.

I still use the trusty ADL and will purchase additional Barricades to ensure decent cover and Line of Sight for my Ork Lootaz, or a Comms Relay for Flyers in my CSM/SM lists.

Those aren't all fortifications. You're just listed the terrain model sets GW sells (like the Manufactorum is not a fortification) and you missed Fortifications they don't sell a model for (like the Void Shield Generator)

You also forgot the Aquila Strongpoint. That can be fun to surprise an opponent with. I always use the macro cannon as I don't trust the void missiles.

Okay, pointing out mistakes is one thing (he's new as stated so don't expect an in-depth knowledge of such things) but then not actually answering his question... what was the point other than pedantry?
The Void Shield generator is very popular - for the saves granted and the way in which they are granted. You will likely have to scratch build one though due to them being a limited run.
The Aegis Defence Line is a cheaper way of getting a Quad Gun on the field compared to other options for some AA defence.
The Bastion also provides the Quad and a nice LOS platform for Vindicare /Snipers or equivalent. Though the price is higher.
Of course the use depends on your army - for static, long range forces they're potentially great but it really depends on your force and playstyle

Depends what you need it to do.
ADL gives you cover saves and cheap AA for a static army.
Bastion for blocking Line of Sight for larger creatures. Bunker if you don't need to block Line of Sight.
VSG for protecting your guys - used mainly in a fast army so that the opponent can't use it.
I've yet to see other pieces of terrain in action, so can't really comment on them.

Things I like.
The fuel lines. -> My ork burna's love these things . it isn't good I know but it is just so much fun when it finally works.
Agis line -> Dirt cheap cover
Landing pad -> Perfect for giving cheap inv saves to big stuff.
Tank traps. -> they offer close combat protection vs Imp knights : D
The tau you get shot wall, it is a bit too expensive but quit a lot of fun when using or boyz. Automatically Appended Next Post: With my imperial army I don't use any at all. Fortifications just don't feel right for my elite get in there as fast as possible and fight style of army

The Skyshield has "ready for Take-off" rule
so I can place my Vendetta in hover mode on the platform on turn 1.
So the Skyshield can be useful, and it gives some good cover saves.

-Me: Don't tell the commissar but i left my Imperial Infantrymans Uplifting Primer at home, but I do carry a folded Texas flag behind my front plate.
-Friend: Texas flag gives you AV14 all around.

It gives 4++ invulnerable save while shields are up (which is why you see people theoryhammering Tzeentch autocannon havocs using it as a sniper perch). I'm not sure what the cover save is. Maybe 5+ as it doesn't have a cover save listed, though a 4+ would make more sense to me?

Wall of Martyrs is not a fortification, but a range of fortifications.
It is the trench, the HW trench, the bunker, and the gun positions. They can be taken as a WoM network, though.
The bastion and ADL are a network of buildings, too, if taken the right way.
For what I use most, it is the Wall of Martyrs bunker.
It is a AV14 medium building, with a battlemented roof, 2x 4-man fire points, and a range of add-ons.
Alll for 5 points more than an ADL, which can easily be flanked or lobbed over.

Aye, you cannot get it any more (barring evilbay) but scratchbuilding your own can be fun
