Hi I found something about your list interesting and it intrigued me to do some math. To see what was more effective. I generally face a lot of
SM in my
LGS and I often use at least one squad of plasma rifles on my suits to cut through marines. So if your meta is different this may not be useful. Still here goes (note I am assuming full range (so no rapid fire) and no
MLs for these calculations).
3x crisis suits with dual plasma first:
6 shots on 4+ gives 3 hits @ 24”
3 hits wounding on 2+ gives 2.5 wounds
No saves vs a marine. So
2.5 die on average each turn.
3x crisis suits with dual
CIB now:
18 shots 4+ gives 9 hits @ 18”
9 hits wounding on 2+ gives 7.5 wounds
A marine getting a 1 or 2 on their save roll yields
2.5 die on average each turn.
Now if you see a lot of
AS 4+ in your meta the
CIB becomes the clear winning choice (I didn’t bother doing the math). However, if you face a lot of marines with 3+ saves or something with 2+ saves, I think the 24”/AP2/
RF of the plasma rifles may serve you better.
Also is your local meta armor heavy? If not, I think 8 fusion blasters in one unit may be a bit much. I think adding N-1 (so 3 for the unit of four) target locks in that unit may be useful too.
Also I like the Idea of the jammer on the Shas’vre, but I do not know is it is worth the extra points to upgrade from a Shas’ui if you could put it on your commander. But I think that is personal pref.
I would love to hear more about your meta, I think if you have a lot of players with T-Shirt armor like nids your
CIB will rock, but otherwise the PR might be better. Also you have 60pts of velocity trackers. Are you expecting heavy air support on other teams? Do you plan on shooting with you Commander? If you just want the buffs save 15pts on the rifle and add 3 target locks to the fusion blaster unit.
Those are my thoughts. I hope it is helpful!
Automatically Appended Next Post: I should also say if you expect to see low (<=13)
AV vehicles, the
CIB get a bump there
So again your meta will determine your build a bit.
