So I'm starting to paint my Emperors Children Heresy army
Consisting of
3 dreads
Land Raider
3 rhinos
30 marines
1 vindicator
Eidolon
9 Palatine blades

I'm going to try to keep this thread updated with tons of work in progress photos

I'm going to be experimenting with the new forgewolrd air paints and I will be relying on this tread for inspiration and some constructive criticism

I got everything built and primed painting soon to come !

Alright so I guess I didn't really explain why I wanted to start this thread, the goal I had in mind was to start this not only to get inspiration to start and finish painting an army, but to push myself to learn some new ways to paint at a overall higher standard. I was hoping to achieve this by outsourcing some constructive criticism from everyone here on dakka dakka. So I would like to start this tread out by saying if you have any constructive criticism it is encouraged and very appreciated.

With that being said I am still pretty new to airbrushing, I wouldn't say that I'm a complete noob, but I would not consider my skill set at an intermediate level either. Somewhere in that gray area so now that in mind lets get to painting......

All dreads are from betrayal at cal the box set and I magnetized them and converted them so that any of the dreads can have either a close combat weapon and a special weapon or 2 of that special weapon

All 30 of them have been base coated, but some of them are at different shades I will have to go over some of them again to get a more consistent color throughout the army

I have all the vehicles still to base coat and I have to touch up some of the models to get a consistent base and then stage 1 will be complete

Nice to see youve set yourself a big challenge. I could never do that much of just one chapter haha. If youre using an airbrush, you should try out pre shading and pre highlighting. Ive just learnt how to do it properly and its a really good technique, particularly on models you really want to make pop

Hey thanks for the advice I have been watching some videos on pre shading/ pre highlighting and it looks really interesting, I think il definitely give it a try especially on the vehicles, I've seen a couple of different variations on how to do this technique from doing it at the priming stage with black/ gray/ white primers and I've seen it at the layering / base coating stage. How do you prefer to do it ?
