I'm starting an AoS tournament in my local GW this week and I have to choose between a Stonehorn and a Thundertusk. I'm fielding a combined Destruction alliance with Night Goblins and all player's lists are restricted to 100 pool choices by the South Coast GT comp system (available on Heelanhammer).

My Night Goblins came in at 70 pool choices, as follows:
Night Goblin Big Boss on Great Cave Squig
Night Goblin Shaman
15 Night Goblin Squig Hoppers
40 Night Goblins with spears, musician, both banners, 4 Netters
6 Fanatics
6 River Trolls
Mangler Squigs

Needing 100 pool choices, I picked up a box of Ogres (12 pool choices), and the Stonehorn/Thundertusk (18/13).

My question is, do I go with a Stonehorn for 100 pools straight, or the Thundertusk and add another Night Goblin Shaman for 99 pools? Anyone with experience using either or would be great. Other than what's listed, this is everything I have and can't get anything else before the tournament. It's not overly competitive, and will be more for fun and getting AoS some attention within the store.

3,500 (and building) ASM
3,000 Blood Angels
1500 Eldar (abandoned)

AoS - Beastclaw Raiders, Ironjawz, Night Goblins, and Ogors - Destruction remains unvanquished!

Looking at the scrolls I like the stonehorn more but that extra goblin shaman I feel would be more help as he can cast shields and deny spells.

I would sign this contract but I already ate the potato

What I can do is take another Shaman along, just in case. 5 Squig Hoppers are the same pools cost as a Shaman, so I can just swap them out if needed.

I was tempted to go for the Thundertusk because of the crazy Ice Blast attack it gets. Other than that, I don't have any shooting units in the whole army... Something I'm quite happy about from a fluff perspective. The Stonehorn is a beast in CC though. Out paying the Mangler Squigs considerably.

I like the squig hoppers and think they make a fun cavalry unit. Shooting, who needs shooting haha.

If you wanted to add more shooting into the list though, have you considered the doom diver with a bully boy. D6 damage is rediculous lol
